"again? with this?" nayeon said.

well, i can't just change myself that quick.

"i prefer being myself," i said proudly and she smiled.

we stopped walking and she stood in front of me. "we have cheerleading practice later. are you gonna join?"

"i have made my decision and no, i don't want to join."

she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "why? this is your chance!"

"chance for what?" i asked.

"a chance to prove to those bullies that they're wrong," she answered.

i thought about it for a while and finally have a decision. "i don't think cheerleading is my thing."

"what?" she said in a high pitched tone. "i already read half of harry potter and the sorcerer's stone!"

"hey, it's fair. i auditioned that cheerleading thing," i fired back.

"but we promised," she whined.

"promise are meant yo be broke, move on."

she pouted. "still! that's our best friend thing! how did you change your mind?"

okay, there is a reason why i backed out.

—flashback—

i was walking on the isle when i heard two boys talking.

"look at that hottie." jungkook pointed at a girl. "bro, i know she ain't a cheerleader but she got the curves."

"such a hottie," jimin replied. "cheerleaders and ordinary girls are the same."

"yeah."

"i don't really care if a girl is a cheerleader or not— just true to herself."

"i thought you like nayeon?"

"i do," jimin said. "it's because she's true to herself."

so if i back out cheerleading, i'll be true to myself! okay....

—end of flashback—

"you're so weird," she said. "what happened to you?"i

i shook my head. "nothing."

"you keep saying nothing.... something wrong? something bugging you?" she asked in a concerned manner.

i gave her a smile to sign that i'm okay but deep inside.... something's bothering me but i don't know what it is. is this jealousy?

"you know that you can tell me anything, right?"

i nodded and gave her a bright smile.
