Grace yawned and rolled over. Who cares about school? She could just sleep all day. No one would care. No one would notice that Grace was missing, except for her mom. "Grace! Get out of bed! You need to-" her mom began. "I'm up! Don't get your panties in a twist!" Grace called back. She rolled over again, and this time she sat up. She stumbled over to her closet and pulled out a pair of jeans. After she had wrestled into those, she haphazardly threw on a t-shirt, and dragged herself to the bathroon. She washed her hands and almost poked her eye out putting in her contacts, then she brushed her teeth. After that she pulled out a brush and wrestled it through her tangled dirty blonde hair. Once she had deemed it "good enough" she pulled it back into a high ponytail.
Slightly more awake, Grace walked down the steps and into the kitchen. She plopped into her chair on the end of the table and her mom placed pancakes in front of her. "Eat up sweetie," her mom began, "Today's a special day!" Grace snapped fully awake at ths. A special day? Was something going on that she had forgotten about? Was a project due? These questions were haunting her as she devoured four pancakes with extra syrup. Finally, she climbed onto the bus and saw her friend Ally sitting slumped in a seat.
She walked as well as she could when she accidentally ran into Sadie. "Hey! Watch it!" Sadie yelled so the whole bus could hear. Grace, blushing furiosly, mumble d a quiet "sorry" and went to sit next to Ally. she shoved her bag under her seat and began to nervously retie her grey converse sneakers. "What's the dealio with you?" Ally asked. Grace then explained about the "special day." Ally assured her that it was no big deal.
After 10 minutes on the bus, they finally arrived at the middle school. Grace and Ally were bustled out of the bus, specially avoiding Sadie and her gang. They walked together as far as they could, then they split to go to their lockers. Grace grabbed her books and headed into her classroom.
