Once they had all parked and everyone had gotten out of the three cars, the shortest of the three men spoke to the entire group saying, "You twelve kids have been chosen to compete in a tournament. You will all be going to camp. At the camp we are taking you to, you will the necessary tools you need to survive. You will split into two groups and eventually fight against each other. You have no choice." Everyone was dumbstruck. Then Lexi spoke up and said, "I'm not doing it. My daddy will pay me out of it. I can pay you up to one million dollars."
The shortest man seemed like he was about to laugh, but when he spoke in was in a measured calm voice. "I said that you have no choice. you are coming with us. I cannot tell you exactly where," he said looking at each of the kids in turn, "but you may know now that we will not hurt you. You will be only hurt by each other. Now get in the plane."
Grace had not noticed the large airplane earlier-for a very good reason. The plane was smaller than a commercial jet, but not by much. The main reason she didn't recognize it was the fact that the entire thing was painted the same color of the dirt it sat on. As she looked, admiring the amazing detail, a door on the side opened up and all three men went to get the ladder ready. When nobody else made a move to go anywhere near the plane, the taller man said, "C'mon."
Ben and Drew went first, followed by Kennady, followed by Sadie, followed by Austin and so on until everyone was on the plane. The seats were cushy and arranged in a u shape around a coffee table. everyone sat down and stared at their shoes and each other awkwardly until they heard the pilot give the fasten your seat belts command. They all hurriedly buckled up and waited for the take of. Suddenly, a thought hit Grace. How were they going to take off? there was no way they could have gone off of a runway. There was no room! They would either have to crash or lift straight into the air. Just as she was thinking this, she was slammed down into her seat as the plane shot straight into the air.
