The Game

Introduction

The curtains on the stage opened, and instead if performers, there was a crowd. They kids' platform suddenly began to move up until they were above their crowd. The tallest man in black stepped forward and said, "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, today it is my great pleasure to introduce our twelve new kids in the tournament of survival. They will now each stand and say their name and age. We begin with you." He gestured toward a short boy with short blondish brown hair.

"My name is Ben and I am 12." He sat down and the kid next to him stood up. He was a little bit taller but not by much and his brown hair fell into his eyes. "My name is Drew and I'm 12 too. Next was Sadie. She was tall, probably 5' 5" and she had long dark brown hair. "I'm Sadie and I turn 13 tomorrow." After Sadie came Kennady who was just as tall, but with kinky blonde hair. "Hey guys! I'm Kennady! I'm 13." Then came Austin. As he stood up, Grace could not help but to admire his perfect brown hair that just barely fell into his eyes. "Austin. 12." This was all he said, then he sat back down.

Ally was next. She stood up and Grace could see her shaking. Even though she was taller, she was definitely the more timid one when it came to the two of them. "Ally. 12." She squeaked out and sat down right away. Grace was next. She was nervous, but she tried to calm herself so that this audience wouldn't know. Why she cared she did not know, but she still felt that it was important. "My name is Grace and I am 12 years old." She spoke his in what she hoped was a calm voice. Then came Dylan. He was pale and skinny with blond hair that he kept cut short. He stood and said, "Dylan, age 12." Then sat down again.

Lexi had long blonde hair that was brushed perfectly straight down he back. "My name is Lexi and I'm 13." Next was Adam. he was tall with blonde hair in a similar style to Austin's and Drew's "My name is Adam. I am 12. Sitting next to Adam, was an African-American boy named Jaden. He stood up and looked totally comfortable, "My name is Jaden Arnolds and I enjoy golfing and reading. I am 12 years old." He said all of this with a terrible fake British accent. nevertheless, it brought a faint trace of a smile to everyone's lips.  Finally was a girl as tall as Sadie and Kennady, and she looked really nervous. "My name is Whitney and I'm 12 i mean 13," She said all of this really fast.

The man in black walked back in front of the kids. "You may now make your choices." This was said to the audience. Choices? What choices did they have to make? Were the kids being chosen for teams or something? Grace wondered this as the curtains closed and the children's platform went back down to beneath the stage.
