"That will be $10", the cab drive says, pulling to the curb and turning to face me. I open my phone case and pull out a ten, handing it to the guy I turn and open the door
"Have a goodnight and be safe out there" I hear from behind me, turning my head I look at the guy
"Thanks, have a good night" I speak up, ending our conversation and shutting the door after he nods at me.
I watch as he pulls away and then turn walking towards my second home. Ironically I come here so much they know me and my order it's weird, but I like being able to just walk in and hand them money knowing they have my order.
"Hey Audrey, you're here early, can't sleep?," Autumn asks, smiling from behind the counter I'm approaching.
"Yep, I got annoyed at my work so, here I am," I say softly stopping and giving her small jazz hands.
"Aww, well if you want I can take off for a bit and help with it. I won't mind, Nathan can man the register for a bit," she says looking at me and typing my order in the register
"That's 7.25" I pull out a 5 and 3 ones since I used my 10 and hand them to her.
"No it's fine I'm just taking a break to think. I'll come up with an end, we just have to wait for my brain to work again," I smile at her as she laughs and hands my receipt and excess change to me.
"I could still take a break so you aren't sitting alone if you want we haven't spoke in a while?" I shake my head and move to grab the tray with my food as she follows with her eyes
"Really it's fine, I don't want to take you from your work, besides I'll talk to you on Thursday when I'm feeling more sociable," she shakes her head and frowns as I slide the tray off the counter and turn around to walk to a nearby table.
"Sometimes I really want to slap you for saying such things" she scolds as I sit the tray on the table, shrugging as I sink down on the chair and opening my nuggets and honey mustard.
"Sometimes I wanna throw myself off a bridge and die but we don't always get what we want," I reply, shoving a chicken nugget dozed in honey mustard in my mouth before having a ketchup pack thrown at my face and hit my forehead
"JesusfifuckingChristasjgegod why?" I yell at her cradling my forehead as she throws another one at me
"Don't you dare speak like that in my presence or I'll throw you off a bridge myself! You're not allowed to be depressed!" She says frustrated, holding up another ketchup packet in a threatening position.
"Don't assault me with ketchup," I flinch and hold up my hands in defense.
"Get me a to go bag I'm not going to sit here and continue to be harassed in this way" I say standing up and walking to the counter
"Nathan! Get me a to go me a to go bag I'm being harassed!", I yell into the back and see him pop his head around a wall, looking between me and Autumn before walking frontwards and picking one up, handing it over the counter for me and turning to Autumn, "stop harassing my customers, you're scaring them off." He says bluntly to Autumn then turning to face me
"And go home, Audrey it's late. I'm going to go call you a cab while you pack your food" he states, walking around the counter
"No need" I saying putting my fries in my bag and grabbing my drink walking towards the door "I'm going to the convenience store to pick up some stuff, I'll go home after though"
"you better" after confirming i would go home I walk out the door and turn to walk towards the CS that's a street from here. While walking I eat my fries, shoving them in my mouth trying to finish as much as possible. When I get to the cs I open the door with my hand after wiping the grease from the fries onto my sweater. The bell rings and I'm greeted by warmth. I grab a basket as the cashier looks at me tiredly. Turning I walk towards the candy isle. I sit my bag of McDonald's on the floor and begin grabbing what I want tossing it in the basket as I do. Starting with gummy worms, then peach rings, bottle caps, gobstoppers and other things I saw and decided I needed. Picking up my McDonald's bag and basket I walk towards the coffee pumpers and sit my stuff down, grabbing a medium cup I fill it with fresh vanilla coffee and sit it down, putting the McDonald's bag in the basket I grab it, then my coffee and walk back to the front. I sit everything on the counter and smile at the cashier
"Sorry, just stocking up" she just nods and begins scanning the stuff as I pull it out of the basket and adds money for the coffee.
"Your total cost is $23.87, cash or card?" she asks bagging my stuff
"Cash" I mutter, fishing 25 dollars from the back of my phone case and handing it to her.
I grab my bags as she puts the cash in and gets a dollar and 13 cents out for me and grabs my receipt.
"Thanks" I mutter as she hands it to me. She nods and I grab my bags and coffee and start walking away "hey, you forgot your food." I here behind me
"You can have it, I'm not hungry, there is an almost full thing of fries and 9 out of the 10 nuggets in there. There's sauce in their too, enjoy," I respond nodding for her to have it before leaving and walking away, towards the park. I'm still not tired and don't want to go home yet. So this is the next best thing. I grab my headphones and plug them into my phone, opening my music I go to playlists and click my favorite playlist that is titled, believe it or not, the good shit. Honestly if you are surprised tell me why cause you really shouldn't be. Anyways, irrelevant, I shuffle it till I get to a song for my specific mood. Cypher pt.2 triptych babeyy. Oof lets go okay I should stop sorry. I turn the music up full and and hum to the tune and do little hand motions(if y'all don't know what Cypher pt.2 triptych is. Get the fuck out of my house and go listen to it, it's good as FUCK. Okay back to the story sorry lol) I start to walk a little faster, just out of habit as I'm naturally a fast person and mouth to Hoseok's part as it's like the only part I know to a point without messing up. The park is still a bit away and I'm really into the music so I begin to jog, this is one of those songs that just hype you up like that.(I would put lyrics here but I'm too lazy to type it out, sorry) by the time the song ends I'm out of breath and at the park. Tired and with coffee nearly spilled everywhere, I begin walking and looking for a place to sit. As I walk the twisted trail I approach the playground. The thing is this playground sucks ass, but they have this really big slide. And when you get to the top. You get a full view of the pond, and past that a glimpse of the city. And sometimes, when the sky is clear and the moon is full, a beautiful galaxy, one that many time I get lost in as it's so breathtaking. I finish walking towards the bottom of the if the stairs and look up, before putting bags on my right arm and my coffee in my right hand. Using my left hand I climb the steep stairs to the top and sit, still out of breath I sit all my stuff next to me. And as I look around I realize it's one of those nights. The ones were I could sit out for hours just staring at the beauty of everything. I lean against the one wall on the side of the slide and rest my head back, looking around. By now Butterfly is now play and it's really soothing me.(the song is above if you would like to listen) I take out my phone and begin to take pictures to paint later. Sitting my phone back next to me I hold my coffee and take a sip. I'm really tired and don't feel like moving, I close my eyes to focus more on the song. I open my eyes on more time and smile softly. Next I was falling asleep, at the place I loved most. Looking out at prettiest sight I could ever see, with the brightest star above.
Here is that song i was talking about. I wanting to put Butterfly up top as its a much calmer and soothing song and Cypher well.......it isn't. its rap and if you don't like it don't listen to it, i just like the song and wanted to include it. (Also if you don't like k-pop, both songs are sung by bts)
