Chapter 35; Day

"WHAT!" Everyone exclaimed simultaneously. "Uh, guys... we have a problem.. ish." Eyeless Jack said, pointing at the window as an indication for the others to look. Following his indication, everyone peeks outside and sees time speeding up. The sun began setting before everyone could see what was happening. Soul checks her ipad, and surely enough, the time was going overdrive. And it wasn't affecting them.

"What the actual fuck?" Jeff cursed in disbelief. "It must be her!!" Chase yelled as he let go of Liu. Ripping the door open, he ran outside to go find her. "Hey! This means Nation Killers Day is today right?" Soul asked as the clock passed midnight. "Yeah. And it will be for a really long time." Tina said as she pointed at the ipad. It showed the time, but the seconds took at least 5 normal seconds to pass.

"It has to be her. Today is her day." Melody spoke as she removed her gaze from the window to the floor. "Then, as The Death Squad and somewhat the only 'sane' one, let's go get her." Snow said as she summoned her scythe and prepared to leave to find her best friend.

The sky was dark and filled with more stars than normal. Even in light polluted areas. Because i like the night sky. Especially stars. It was bedazzling. If only it happened normally, and there wasn't a possibly murderous being from space on the loose. The forest seem more eerie than usual, and Slightly more overgrown? That could just be a trick of the light.

"Snowy, do you think everything is okay?" Melody asked her sister as they walked out of the forest. "I know we'll find her. It's just, what if she isn't her anymore. You saw what her magic did to her..." "She's fine. This ain't the first time something like this has happened to her before. She's out of control. But, we can bring her back." Snow twirled her scythe around and stopped in her tracks.

Tina and Soul, who were chatting stopped just behind the two icy sisters. "Is everything good?" Soul asked. "Do you hear that?" Snow's words caused silence between the four of them. "I dunno. What am i listening for?" Soul chuckled. "Shh! The screams.." Melody said listening carefully to the sound that stopped them all.

The screams were distant, but they were there. A louder shriek echoed and cause those of the death squad running towards it smirking and smiling. "Oh yeah! Death! Our favourite thing ever!" Snow chuckled as they ran with the wind.

They ran through the town passing by many corpses, some with exploded heads, others with stab wounds. Some were even burning with traces of magic. It was all...familiar in a way. But Jade never liked making heads explode. The way it made blood splatter was never something she enjoyed. Wait, how did they all know that. None of the squad really watched how she killed someone.

'The link is stronger than i thought. I guess they really are the ones im looking for.'

The Death Squad all heard the voice and stopped. "What did the voice mean by the ones they're looking for?" Tina asked. "It might be Jade, but it's like she doesn't know us. Something has changed about her." Snow explained quietly. Something most definitely had changed. And wherever Jade went, she didn't go alone.

"Alpha! The others are on their way!" A rough sounding female voice spoke as they looked up to their superior. "Good. Let's see how long it takes them." A voice echoed back, clearly satisfied with something. "Banshee, be a dear and fuck them over so they have a challenge to face. If you'd like, you can too my little demon."

"Fuck yeah!" A feminine voice yelled as she clutched onto a pair of familiar daggers. "Please, don't call me little, Alpha. Orthax doesn't appreciate it." The other female sighed, " And no, i won't go, i don't particularly want my eardrums to bleed."

"Don't worry. If it all goes according to the stars, everything shall work out. After all, me from another universe and her friend, are the authors of this tale."
