Waste It On Me

The Deal

The girls went upstairs and all rushed to the third floor of their mansion, where their father's master bedroom was situated. They eventually reached his door but they did not knocked. Instead they all had their ears attached to the door as they tried their best to hear whoever their father was calling not until their father's male assistant took notice of them who just came back from completing an order.

"Young masters? What are you-" the male assistant's sentence was abruptly stopped by Lisa who had her hand over his mouth while the other three made a hushing sound.

A couple of seconds later, the door opens revealing Mr. Kim who sighed as he saw what his daughters were up to.

Lisa withdraws her hand from the assistant's mouth and goes behind her older sisters as their father looked at them with disappointment. He motions his assistant to go away and opens his room widely for his daughters to come in.

The Kim sisters awkwardly went in their father's room as they shyly moved about and looked at the floor.

"Care to explain as to why you were all outside my room?" Mr. Kim says as he crosses his arms and looks at his daughters who sat on one of his couches. "And please be honest with me."

"Papa. We're sorry! We know we shouldn't bother you especially on work related issues! But we -" Jisoo starts but is soon cut off by Jennie, Rosé and Lisa who reasoned out all at once.

"We were just curious! We wanted to know why you were acting strange!"

"You seemed a little off and we were worried!"

"We wanted to know what you were hiding from us!"

Mr. Kim sighs heavily as he sits down across his daughters while rubbing his temple.

"Do you really want to know?" Mr. Kim says as he looks at them making them all gulp and nod their head excitedly. He sighs again before clearing his throat. "Okay then." He stands up and goes to get a folder on his table and passes it to Jisoo who nervously opens the folder as her sisters move closer to her to see what it was all about.

"Papa! What's this?!"

"This is a lie right?!"

"Papa! Tell me this is just a joke!"

"You can't be serious with this right?!"

They exclaimed all at once making Mr. Kim cover his face with his hands as he starts to sob. The girls all calmed down as they saw their father sob into tears in front of them which rarely happened.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm -" Mr. Kim says as he sobs harder on his seat. The girls exchanged looks as they all went to him and engulfed him in a warm embrace.

"It was the only way to save our company which was being faced with such crisis during those times when your mother was in the hospital. We almost went bankrupt because of her hospital bills plus the losing number of clients and projects and the interest on the debts and loans we made to suffice during those tribunal times." Mr. Kim explained as soon as he calmed down a bit. "The Park's, Jeon's and the two other Kim's were the ones who helped us get by those difficult times. If it were not for them, we would not be here."

"So we became your collateral?" Jennie questions.

"Is that it papa?" Jisoo adds on.

"We wanted to repay them back with money, even if it had interest. That was what we suggested. But they wanted another mode of payment." Mr. Kim takes a deep breath and continues his explanation. "The families we owe a large sum of money wanted an arranged marriage between our company and theirs. Each one of you was to be wedded to a son of the four companies we have debt to. They saw it as a way to strengthen ties and rebuild an indestructible empire that would be a legacy of our families. We saw it as a chance to expand and grow. And so...as selfishly as it sounds. We signed the contract. Both your mother and I consented to this. And I feel sorry. Because it's like we sold each of you to my business partners."

"Mama agreed to it?" Rosé asks in disbelief. "Wow."

"This is too much." Lisa says as she stands up and crosses her arms.

"Can't we just pay them the money we owe-" Jennie suggests but was cut off by her father.

"We already had paid in full years ago." Mr. Kim answers.

"Then that means we're off the hook! We don't need to follow what the contract says!" Jisoo says.

"The contract won't be nullified just because we've already paid our debts. It was signed and has to be fulfilled at all costs."

"Why are you not doing anything at all papa! Have you ever thought how we would feel?" Lisa retorts as she raises her voice while Rosé takes a hold of her.

"Why do you seem okay with this papa?! Can't you see -" Jisoo tries to reason out but her father cuts her off.

"Because this is what's the best for all of you!" Mr. Kim loudly exclaims and his heart swells at the sight of her daughters whom were on the edge of crying. "Just please try to understand how hard it is for me too."
