“So Liam seemed very happy today,” Shawn said as he walked over to my side - a yawn leaving his lips.

It was currently about five in the morning and the sun had not even began to appear over the trees. The area was completely silent besides the stifled yawns that were leaving the people around me. The breeze was blowing through the trees making them shake and whistle in a sound that made you just want to relax.  Everything seemed to be at peace and if there wasn’t a battle looming in the near future, I would have loved to sit and enjoy it.

“Oh yeah?” I asked. I bounced a little in attempts to keep the blood flowing through me. I felt like I was going to turn into an icicle before we left. I didn’t wear much to cover my arms because it would only be extra baggage I would have to deal with later.

“Yeah,” he yawned out once more. “He was up before everyone else and he held this genuine smile on his face. He looked determined and at the same time, kind. Those were things I never thought I would see ever coming from Liam. Maybe the day when pigs flew…”

“Are you sure that isn’t real?” I mumbled quirking up an eyebrow. “I mean you guys are real.”

“I would throw back a remark if I wasn’t so tired.” he grumbled as he shot me a playful glare. “You are in a good mood for it being this early in the morning…” he was growing suspicious and narrowed his eyes at me.

I would have told him what was really going on but I didn’t even know. Yesterday after our kiss, we were interrupted by Alpha Dakota who gave us a knowing look when we shot away from each other. After that we never really talked about it, we just went back to the meeting and every once in awhile we would steal a glance.

I felt like we could just forget a lot of things when we were together and most of the time it did. He knew how to get on my nerves but the good always outweighed the bad and our teasing usually won. He was protective and stubborn, he was overall good guy that most people just didn’t realize because of his walls. When I spent time with him I could just be a girl without baggage and it really seemed like everything, everything including people, it would just disappear for a little while.

“Everyone get with your packs!” Alpha Dakota ordered as he stormed onto into the scene. He held a serious expression that told us all that it was time for stuff to go down. He was ready and just seeing him ready made everyone else suddenly feel pumped up. “We have decided to surround the camp and attack from different sides! We are currently waiting on news from one of our pack members before we head off. I will let you know more when we get contact with our help.”

I turned my attention back around to Shawn who was staring blankly at everyone dispersing into their packs. He looked lost at the sight that laid in front of him. He didn’t have a pack which I had completely forgot about and I felt bad for him, omegas were pretty much lost without their pack families.

I walked over to the Alphas who were huddled together and gently tapped on Alpha Dakota’s shoulder. “Sir what about our omegas?” I was not about to let them feel abandoned in this without a shoulder or person to lean on.
