CHAPTER 3 - "Feelings"

??- JOHNNY?! HOW COULD YOU?!

We turn around and see Jenny(aka John's present girlfriend with tears in her eyes.

J- Uh what's wrong?
Je- THIS! *shows him her phone*

I was standing right beside them and as John took her phone to see something, Jenny glared at me with..anger? But, what did I do?

J- Oh..
K- Hold up. Lemme see it
J- No it's fi-
K- *snatches the phone from his hand*

It was a picture of me and Johnny sleeping together back to back...from yesterday..but..

J- Ok Jenny stop being immature. Its-

Je- IMMATURE?! THIS IS WHAT U CALL A BEST FRIEND?!

I was still in shock about what was going on. Suddenly I realise that everyone in the corridor we're snickering. A guy bursted out laughing while showing me his phone screen and then walked away. He had the same picture with him? But how? Who would-...wait...

K- Where did u get this?

Je- I DON'T NEED TO ANSWER U HOE!

J- DON'T TALK TO HER LIKE THAT!

Je- U ARE DEFENDING HER?! GREAT! I HATE U! *walks away*

John tries to go behind her but I pull his arm and pull him behind.

K- John, where is Lauren?
J- What are u-

I knew he understood. His expression became angry and infuriated. He takes out his phone and texts Lauren. Then looks at me

J- She's at the library. Come on

K- No wait. Let me talk to her. Alone

J- But Kenzie-

K- You will make it worse

J- Ugh FINE

When I turned to head to the library, this time John pulled me by my hand. I flinched again

J- Hey, u r ok right?

K- W-what do u mean?

J- I mean..*sigh* I m sorry. I know u r angry. I m sorry on behalf of Lauren. Besides, this doesn't change anything right? So don't worry. U r only my best friend

K- ..yeah..got it..

I didn't really know how to react to that. While walking to the library, I almost teared up. Of course I was supposed to feel awkward about the picture. Maybe I would have if I had seen it yesterday..but.. I had to admit, seeing that picture, I almost smiled. ALMOST.

Anyways, I find Lauren in the library and walk up to her. She was reading something idk what, I snatched the book from her hand and slammed it on a table

L- Hey! Oh jeez, *whispering* Kenzie! U can't do that in a library.

K- Why.did.u.post that picture?

L- What do u mea- oh u mean...

K- Yes?

L- ok well come on. It doesn't matter ok?

K- Lauren *gritting her teeth* Jenny broke up with John bc of that

L- still. And John gets a new girlfriend every week. What's the big deal?

K- That's not the only reason!

Suddenly the librarian screams at us

Li- Don't make noise!

K- Sorry!

L- Told u

K- *sighs* I know what u r trying to do Lauren. It's not gonna work. I don't want John as something more than a frnd

L- but-

K- bye

With that, I leave the library, John's words still buzzing in my ears. "You are only my best friend"....
