It was the third time this week that Bong Soon had the same nightmare. She would be running in a forest she wasn't sure if she was running after someone or whether she was being chased. She just ran. And every time she would get close to reach the end of the forest, her alarm would go off.

"Ugh!" Bong Soon quickly switched off her alarm and woke up to find the other side of the bed empty. Confused she crawls towards the other side table to find a sticky note on the lamp.

Have an emergency at work. Sorry can't drop you off today. Love you. Text me. Best of luck.

Feeling slightly irritated at her husband, Bong Soon angrily takes a shower and quickly has her breakfast. As usual it's toast and coffee. She looks over the table clock to see the time is 7:45 AM. Panicked she quickly goes back to her room, dries her hair, puts on her outfit that she had laid out yesterday night after much deliberation with her husband. She quickly powders her face and puts on a bit of lipstick and heads out of her home.

It is one minute to 8 as she rushes down the stairs and runs towards the Bus Stop. Quickly she manages to climb onto the bus as it is about to leave. She sits down and takes a deep breath when her phone rings. It's a text message from her husband.

'I left some extra cash in your purse take a cab.'

She angrily breathes and texts her husband back.

'I already got onto the bus.'

After a minute, he replies.

'What? Why?'

'It's more economical.'

'Sorry. I know you are mad at me but we finally found a lead and I just got promoted I want to make a good impression. I promise I'll treat you beef tonight.'

Bong Soon was still angry at her husband for leaving her on her first day at her new office, but she decided to be understanding

'Okay. Best of luck.'

'Love you.'

Bong Soon smiles to herself, it had been five years since her marriage but her husband's words still had the power to make her heart skip a beat.

The bus stops in front of Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.

"I've been a police officer for the past five years. This is just a new place. I deserve this promotion. I can and will do this."

She takes a deep breath and walks in.

"Ma'am. Detective Do is here."

"Bring her to my office."

Bong Soon knocks and enters Commissioner Han's office.

"Good Morning." She greets the Commissioner and bows her head.

"Oh hello there Detective Do. Please have a seat."

"Thank you." Bong Soon replies as she sits down.

"So you must have been already informed that you are being assigned to our agency's Special Team or as we call them Unit S.

Bong Soon nods her head.

"This team tends to handle high profile and low conviction rate cases hence there tends to be much pressure on them both internal and external, Hence not many detectives actually manage to qualify during the probation period."

"I am aware." Bong Soon replies.

"Based on your performance as a Patrol Division Officer you were recognized by your seniors as being excellent conflict diffuser. Your team leader mentioned to me that you have a natural talent to identify people. If I'm not mistaken you have stopped many abduction cases from happening and if I'm not mistaken even a murder, am I right?

"Are you preparing me for some bad news?" Bong Soon asks cheekily.

"I am. We have an excellent team but getting confession isn't their strongest skills. Even though they manage to gather strong evidence against the culprit, the defense lawyers tend to file appeal and win due to the culprit denial of the charges. Evidence gathering that my team can do but..."

"Guilty confessions are difficult." Bong Soon interrupts.

"Yes." Commissioner Han replies.

Bong Soon remains quiet for a minute before she says, "Don't worry. I was aware of this when I accepted this opportunity. So I am not the type to get intimidated by the difficulty of the job."

"Well I'll meet you again after three months and then you can let me know if you still feel the same." Commissioner Han replies with a smile.

There is knock on the door.

"Come in." Commissioner Han replies.

"Commissioner. You asked for me?" Enters a man, who seems to be in his early 50s.

"Yes I did. Chief Nam this is Detective Do, she will be working on probation for Unit S. Detective Do this is the Team leader of Unit S. Over here we call him Chief Nam but you can call him as you see fit."

"Yes. It's an honor to meet you." Bong Soon bows and offers her hand for a shake.

Chief Nam politely greets Detective Do and shakes her hand and then starts, "Let's go kid. It's time to introduce you to the rest of the team."

"Goodbye Commissioner." Both Bong Soon and Chief Nam say as they leave the office.

As they are walking down the hallway to the office, Bong Soon starts up a conversation.

"Excuse me, I might seem rude to be asking this but you are the legendary grunt worker Chief Nam Goong Min right?"

"Looks like I will never be able to escape my past." He replies seemingly embarrassed.

"No no. I have a lot of respect for you Sir. Every time we had to do double shifts or deal with drunk cases I would often use your story to keep me inspired. You have proved that no matter how smart a detective is hard work is a necessity to solve a case."

"I hate that word hard work. I've been rejected many times in life by being called a person who worked too hard. In fact your generation believes in smart work, am I right?"

"That's true; smart working is simpler. But I have a philosophy, 'No amount of intelligence or faith can help you if you lack the effort that is required." Bong Soon replies confidently.

He laughs a bit and responds, "I think you'll fit here like a glove."
