Chapter 2: In my dreams

I never thought walking into math class would have Paisley freak out at how much she was embarrassed. It was just school, she was never gonna see these people after high school so why care what they think?

"Brailey what are you doing here?" Paisley asked.

"What do you mean? I have math in room 322 with Mr. Adams first period. That's where I am right?" I asked looking around the room to see no one that I knew around. Shocker.

"Y-ye-yea, that's where you are." Paisley stuttered, " I have this class now too." She finished, sounding disappointed.

"Great we can sit together." I replied sarcastically.

"No! We can't!" I gave her a puzzled look.

"I-I-I mean I can't sit with you because I have to sit by my other friends. Sorry."

" Paisley, there's four empty seats by you ill just sit in one of those."

"Brailey you can't!"

"And why not?"

"BecauseIdontwanttositnexttoyou." Paisley rushed.

"Um, you were talking really fast I didn't get any of that."

Paisley paused, "I said I don't want to sit next to you." She finally finished.

"Oh. Um. Ha that's okay ill just sit with one if my friends." I don't understand why she didn't want to sit next to me, everyone new we were sisters, but maybe not twins?

"Really!? Thanks! See you later!" Paisley gushed before she left to sit with her so called friends. More like sluts to me.

Since I couldn't sit next to Paisley, I decided she probably didn't want me to sit anywhere near her so I sat across the room in a corner spot, hoping no one would notice me.

"Hi, I'm Clayton." Anddddd I was wrong. A blonde haired, skinny muscular, dark-toned boy sat right next to me, trying to make conversation. I give him an A+ for trying.

"Um hi." I replied shyly.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Brailey."

"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl." He just ruined this whole thing with a cheesy line.

"That was cheesy. Just a 4-1-1 don't try and use me for any booty calls. I'm not interested. I'm here for school, and school only." BURN!

"Woah, okay. One: I'm definitely not that kind of man. Two: I'm not a man-whore I would much rather spend time in school than out on a date with someone I know I will never marry. Three: No thank you?"

"Thank you for what? Your cheesy line?" I asked.

"Yea for my 'cheesy line'."

"Thank you for your compliment but it seems to me you need more macaroni in your pick up lines." I replied.

But before Clayton could come up with a burning comeback the teacher spoke up, "Okay everyone! I'm Mr. Adams, your pre-calc teacher. Today we will e going over rules and everything for this classroom so please try not to fall asleep."

After Mr. Adams went over every rule we needed to know for the year, we were left with a quiet study hall for the last fifteen minutes of class.

"Back to our conversation, Brailey. I was about to say that-" edits Clayton could even finish I interrupted him.

"Look, please listen. I'm not one of those girls who fall over guys 24/7. No thank you I have a life. Don't expect me to fall over heels for you because you called me beautiful. If you want that go to my sister. She's a pro at being a slut."

"No no no you don't understand. That's not what I want. I know what your going through. Well I don't exactly know what it feels like but I've heard about it and you shouldn't have to feel like that. You shouldn't have to support your sister through everything even when she treats you like shit. She should at least be welcoming you and she should be appreciative of what she has because it could all be gone tomorrow."

" So if you don't want me to fall head over heels or you, why did you even talk to me?"

"What do you mean?" He asked confusingly.

"No one ever talks to me. Why are you though?"

"Cuz I think we both have that in common."

For some reason there was something about Clayton that made me actually feel good about myself. He doesn't seem like what all the others guys in this school are, trying to get the 'goods' from a girl. He's different, I know he is.

The bell rang, ending first period." We'll see ya around I guess." Clayton said.

"Yea see ya around." Hopefully.
