"We did it! The Abby Lee takes home another victory!" Abby Lee, our elite competition dance coach and studio owner, chanted leading the National Title holding team into the dressing room.
"I think this calls for a victory party!" Paige Hyland, my best friend, said smiling at all the girls and we returned the favor.
"Nia, no it's your grandads birthday remember!" Holly said. Nia sighed and started to pack up her station.
"Mack why don't we hurry on out of here too," my mom said hinting that my sister wasn't going to be attending our victory party. My mom knew that our parties are not the scene for my 11 year old sister. Not that we did anything bad but it just wasn't for her.
"But mom I thought it was a team party!" she whined, "and I'm a part of the team!"
"You'll get over it just invite little Brooke over," I said shooing her off. I was so excited for Paige's party since Josh, Paige's brother and my crush since about the 4th grade, was gonna be there and Paige said she'd help me get my first real kiss with him. I mean I've pecked Gino back when I was 11 but I want a real kiss since I was 14 now. Since this one was gonna be with Josh it was gonna be perfect.
All of the girls hurried into Kelly's minivan to get ready for the party.
"So who's on the guest list?" Chloe said taking her hair down from her tight ballet bun.
"Well I know Josh has some friends over, Nick, Gino and Brandon?" Paige said scanning her closet.
"Perfect!" Kendall said.
My hair was in a french braid from my solo so I took it down to reveal beachy waves. I didn't have any clothes so I just changed into leggings and my Abby Lee jacket.
"Maddie you really think your gonna kiss my brother in that outfit?" Paige said looking me up and down. When I looked at the others outfits I realized I was really underdressed & conservative. Paige wore short denim high waisted shorts with a lace bustier top. Chloe worked pleather high waisted shorts and a red crop top and Kendall wore a cute floral romper.
"This is the only outfit I had," I said self consciously lowering my zipper to reveal my chest a little more.
Paige searched her closet for something for me to wear. She tossed me some light wash high waisted shorts with a red and light blue aztec crop top.
"Much better!" Chloe said. I looked in the mirror and smiled at what I saw. This girl has gotta be kissed if you ask me I thought and day dreamed about the perfect kiss from my childhood crush Josh Hyland. The doorbell immediately brought me back from my lovely day dream to see Gino standing in the door frame looking directly at me. He gave me a smile and I watched his eyes dance all over me. Something about seeing him again changed something within me.
