"Girls!" Kelly screamed waking us up, "hurry up and get ready for dance I let you all sleep in too long and Melissa is gonna be here in 15."

I peeled my eyes open and checked my phone to see I had a text from Gino and my mom.

"Maddie no time for that," Chloe said grabbing my arm and pulling me up the stairs to Paige's room where all the girls hustled to get ready before my mom got here to take us.

"Melissa is here!" Kelly yelled and all the girls ran into my moms white mini van.

"Hey girls! How was the party last night?" my mom asked backing out of the Hylands driveway.

"The one I wasn't invited to," Mackenzie moaned.

"Shut up Kenz, you're a baby, but it was uhh...good," I said not wanting to tell my mom what actually happened. All of the girls giggled at my response.

"I'm not even gonna ask," my mom said obviously realizing that something was up.

"Maddie and --" Paige began but I cut her off by putting my hand over her mouth.

"Maddie, nothing," I reassured my mom and gave Paige an annoyed look.

We all continued to small talk when we pulled up to the Abby Lee Dance Company.

"Good morning, Abby," we all said in sync as we passed Abby at the front desk and went into the den to stretch.

"Guys why would you almost tell my mom what happened! She would've killed me!" I said taking off my sweats and tee shirt to reveal my Abby Lee Dance Company crop top and black booty shorts.

"You're mom deserves to know when you're in love," Paige defended herself.

"I'm not in love," I said getting into a split, "we kiss a couple times and you all are ready for us to get married."

All the girls laughed.

"Pyramid!" Abby yelled and we all ran into Studio B to see our fate for the week, "well on the bottom of the pyramid we have Nia, I'm sick of correcting you on the same old stuff the feet need to be fixed soon, next we have Paige, you're just sliding under the radar I need more, Kenzie, you need to start winning first place all the time like Maddie did at your age the second place last week was unacceptable, Chloe, you were a part of the first place duet congrats, Kendall as were you congrats also. And on the top as per usual, Maddie you won a National Title again what number is this?"

"13," I said modestly.

"This week we are going to Star Power in Ohio and you know what that means those rotten crab apples are going to be there and you all must bring it to beat them. I have a few assignments waiting for you. Paige I am challenging you to a hot sassy jazz routine to "Circus" by Brittany Spears. I hope you can bring it. Maddie, our raining title holder I am giving you a lyrical piece to called 'Forbidden' it's about a girl who is in love with a boy and her father won't let them be together. Both of you will be competing head to head with Gino from Cathy's team."

Gino? I felt a nervous feeling in my gut. Now that me and Gino are kind of together what if I beat him and he gets mad at me? Not to brag but every time that him and I went head to head I have beaten him and if I don't beat him Abby would kill me.

"And lastly the group, we are doing a ballet piece to 'Broken Dolls'" Abby finished.

"Abby what about Kendall? She just had a first place duet and doesn't get a solo?" Jill complained.

"Jill I hope you realize that Kendall was in a duet with Chloe and she didn't get anything either," Christi said.

"Kendall deserves that solo over Paige!" Jill yelled.

"Jill last time I checked I was the dance teacher and I give my solos to who I want," Abby fought back.

"Kendall is even higher on the pyramid," Jill urged.

"Stop trying to take this opportunity away from my daughter! When was the last time Paige had a special part or a duet or a trio or anything!" Kelly defended.

I rolled my eyes. At this point I would give up my solo to Kendall or Chloe id rather them go head to head with Gino than me.

"That's enough, you're all wasting my time and I don't want to hear you women crying about me not spending enough time on your kids choreography when your sitting here bickering in my precious time!" Abby yelled and the moms all went up stairs so we could practice our group.

After group choreography Paige was rehearsing her solo while I sat in the den with the other girls and played on my iPhone.

"So how do you feel going head to head with your boyfriend?" Chloe asked breaking the silence.

"He's definitely not my boyfriend," I protested.

"Yeah sure," Chloe teased.

"Maddie! It's time for your solo!" Gianna called from inside the studio. Finally I needed to stop thinking about this whole Gino situation.

My choreography was great, it was one of my best yet. I really loved this solo and I knew it was gonna beat whatever horrible routine Cathy was going to come up with. but I knew what I had to do in order for Gino not to hate me. I did my front aerial part and landed on my ankle then fell to the floor.

You're welcome Gino.
