I start walking with Soda. He was telling me about his friends and how he believes that they will love me. I thought it was sweet, but I was also nervous because things never turn out for me.
"So how old are you?" I ask.
"17. What about you?"
"Oh, I'm seventeen as well."
After that we just walked in silence. But it wasn't an awkward silence, it was a silence that I welcomed.
Shortly after that, we came upon his house. It looked JUST like mine. The fence and everything. I thought it was neat. We walked up the stairs and into the house. There were 6 other guys.
Sodapop walked in at first and I followed like a puppy.
"Hey guys, this is Clementine. Clementine, these are my friends."
"I'm Darrel Curtis. Soda's older brother." A tall guy said.
"I'm Ponyboy Curtis. Soda's younger brother." A kid who looked 14 said.
"I'm Steve. Soda's Best Friend." A guy with messed up teeth said.
"I'm Two-Bit" A guy who did not take his attention off the T.V said.
"I'm Johnny Cade, Ponyboy's Best Friend." A small kid with a scar on his cheek whispered.
"Dallas." A big scary dude said.
I was startled by all of these people.
"I am Clementine. Clementine Summers." I said, actually more like whispered.
Dallas' eyes got huge. But I chose to ignore it.
Darrel them stood up. "So, Clementine, what brings you to Tulsa. Are you new?"
"Kinda. My brother lived here and he was killed recently. So I decided to move into his house." I said. I didn't wanna try to hide anything, so I got straight to the point.
Everybody got solemn looks on their faces. Dallas had a cold look. Like he knows something. But I decided not to press it because I just met these guys.
"I'm sorry Clem. Sam was a good guy." Darry said.
"Wait, You guys knew him?" I asked. I never mentioned his name so I figured they MUST know him a little.
"Well yeah, everybody knows everybody around here." Said Sods with a giggle.
"I suppose.." I sighed.
