Before Peter and I were going to catch up, I had to get the hell out of this jumpsuit.  I went to find the bathroom, and after about five minutes of looking I finally got there.  I went inside and slipped out of the yellow piece of crap, and got out my clothes.  I put on my leggings first, with a belt, and then I put on my orange tank top and black leather jacket.  Last, I put on some combat boots, placed my stun gun in its slot on my belt, and then put my hair in a ponytail.

Once I left I saw Peter sitting on what I assumed to be his bed.  I went to sit on the bed across from him, and he looked up at me just staring.  I just ignored it and sat down.

“So,” I said to him. “It’s been 26 years.  I thought those sons of bitches that took us would have already killed you by now.”

“Well, they did try to eat me.” He said with a little laugh on the end.

                “Really?!”

                “Yeah, but Yondu stopped them.”

“Isn’t Yondu the guy that we were gonna turn you in to?”

“Yeah, I was supposed to bring the orb to him, but I obviously didn’t. But, I want to hear about you.  What did you do after they dropped you off?”

“Well, they dropped me off at Xandar for some weird reason, and an orphanage found me and took me in.  I stayed there until I was around eighteen, and I just couldn’t live there anymore, so I snuck out one night and stole some Nova officer’s ship.  Then I just went everywhere.  I would get money by stealing things and selling them to markets and stuff. I’ve been arrested three time, and I broke out twice, but the third time I paid Rocket to take me with him, and I’ve been working with them ever since.”

“What was it like at the orphanage?” Peter asked sounding concerned, which seems like something he normally doesn’t do.

“Oh, it sucked.” I said, not at all trying to sugarcoat it. “I didn’t have any friends for the eight years I was there.  I think that they didn’t really like that I was terrain.  And I thought about you a lot, wondering if you were still alive and shit.”

“You thought about me a lot? I bet you a million units I thought about you more.  The ravagers wouldn’t even let me look for you!”

“I looked for you” I said, diverting my eyes towards the floor. “I gave up after a few months because I thought it was hopeless.  But it seems we found our way towards each other.”

There was an awkward silence as neither of us really knew what to say.

“I used to have a crush on you.” Peter blurted out making me blush immediately. “That’s why the last few months we were on earth I barely talked to you.”

“I just thought you didn’t really like me anymore!” I said trying to stop blushing.  It really surprised me that he used to like me. I mean, I had a tiny crush on him, but I lost hope when he stopped talking to me.  I wonder if I should tell him.  Would that be better or worse? Oh hell, I don’t know!

“Sam!” Peter said trying to get my attention and I just about fell out of the bed.

“Sorry! Anyway, I think you should tell me about your life.”

“Basically the ravagers took me and raised me as one of their own.  I’ve been working with then since we were taken.”

“Did you ever find out why we were taken?” I asked.

“No, but I do know they didn’t mean to take you.”

“That makes me feel great inside.”  I said very sarcastically as Peter got up. “What are you doing?”

“I’m gonna play some music.” He said as he inserted his mix tape into his speakers, as Moonage Daydream started playing.

I got up and walked over to him. “I can’t believe you’ve kept up with this after all these years.”

“Yeah, it’s the only thing I have left of my mom.” He said sounding sad.

“I don’t have anything from my parents.” I said “I’ve already accepted the fact that my mom is probably dead.”

We both just stood there in silence once again. “So, you really had a crush on me?” I asked trying to change the subject.

“Oh, hell yeah.” He said smiling, and I of course blushed again. “I just thought about you all the time and I thought you were the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.”

“I probably am.” I said and we both started laughing.

“You still are beautiful.” He said a bit quieter, and I chuckled a bit. “No, really.” He said looking at me as my face turned beet red.

“Thank you.” I said looking down, but Peter lifted my head up so I could look at his face.  My heart started beating at an impossible rate as I looked him straight in the eyes.

“You two get up here!” I heard Rocket yell and we both jumped back from each other, blushing.  I walked over to the ladder and Peter followed.  When we got up there, we both looked out the window in awe at what looked like a gigantic head.

                “Whoa.” Peter said.

                “What’s it called?” asked Drax.

“It’s called Knowhere,” Gamora said. “The severed head of an ancient celestial being.  Be careful going in rodent, there are no regulations.”

And with that we flew into a giant severed head.
