The next week when Red got ready to head off into the woods to meet her puppy (the nickname she had for him but wouldn't reveal just yet) she noticed a group of men gathered outside the woods, Jack being among them. She was about to turn and go a different way when he noticed her.

"Red!" She froze, one foot raised. Darn it. She thought before turning around with a fake smile. "Hey Jack, what's up?" He ran up to her with bright boyish eyes. "Someone's sheep got stolen last night, they just found the corpses outside the woods. Everyone knows it was the wolf, they're going in now to catch him and string him up." Red was thankful for her pale skin, had she turned and paler he might've gotten suspicious.

"Will they be able to catch him?" His face fell. "Probably not, I hear that creature's as slippery as a snake. It would take a miracle to get him." It took every inch of her willpower not to smile. "Well, let's hope they can catch him." His smile wasn't very convincing. "Yeah, let's hope. Be careful when you go in there Red." This time she did smile. "Will do Jack, will do." He smiled before walking away. As she headed for home, she couldn't help feeling a little guilty; Jack was a nice guy, it was rather obvious to her now that he cared about her, but he really wasn't her type. If that were the case, she would've made a move with him rather then her darling puppy. She giggled a little under her breath at the thought of the pet name.

He's going to be so furious when he finds out. She did a gleeful little hop as she entered her room and noticed a small bouquet on her windowsill. It was made up of small, blue flowers, the type with multiple tiny blue ones on a thin stalk. She smiled as she raised them to her nose and took a gentle sniff. How heavenly they smelt.
