It had been seven days since Chris last saw Ella, but it's not like he didn't try to see her. He did three times, and sometimes she was at a friends I guess. Chris didn't know who it could be but he just assumed Gordie, and he didn't mind.

Chris knocked on the door, nervous at who might come to the door, because when it was her uncle, he simply told him she wasn't home. He didn't want his niece being with a Chambers, but her parents didn't know their families reputation so they always told him how it was.

Chris knew about this because he came on one occasion, and heard her voice. Her uncle answered the door. Chris didn't know him, but recognized him as one of the locals. He knew right away he wasn't pleased with his presence

"Hi, is uh, Ella home?" Her uncle scoffed, in way that he probably thought only he could hear. Then Chris heard her voice again, talking to her mother he assumed.

"No, sorry." He said and slammed the door on his face. Chris was kind of shocked by what happened, but wasn't so surprised once he realized he was a local. He didn't take it too hard though.

Just for his luck this time though, Ella's mother answered the door.

"Hi, Mrs. Fontaine, is Ella home?" He asked politely. Ella's mom loved how he used his manners.

"Please, call me Bonnie.. I'm sorry Chris, but you just missed her." She said, sadly.

"Chris came looking for you today." Her mom told her later that day. It was her first time using his name, she usually just called him "that boy from the grocery store." She was kind of upset that she missed him, but didn't want to show it.

"What did he want?" She asked her mom.

"Oh, he just asked if you were around.. you didn't say where you were going so I said you were at a friends." She saw that Ella looked kind of disappointed on the inside and finished what she was saying "I told him you'd call him though."

"How am I supposed to do that without-" She was cut off when she turned around and saw her mom holding a piece of paper with numbers and Chris's name on it.

It wasn't long till they were on the phone together.

"Hi, is Chris home?" She said once she figured the phone was answered.

"Ella?" He asked. Ella just knew he was smiling or smirking, with the way he spoke.

She stayed silent for awhile before saying, "yes."

"I didn't think you'd call." He said with a smile on his face, like she assumed.

He lied. He knew she would for some reason, he just didn't think it'd be that soon.

"You we're looking for me?" She asked and smirked, he saw it through the phone.

"Oh yes, I was just wondering if you were busy tomorrow?" He asked her.

"I'll have to check, wait." She held the phone to her chest and did little whisper scream. Chris chuckled cause he already knew she wasn't busy.

"I'm free, why? What's up?" She said, bringing the phone back to her ear.

"Maybe we could go on a date or something?" He asked, not really being sure how to ask her.

"Well that all depends, what will be done on this date?" She liked doing this to Chris, especially because he wasn't one to quit, and she liked that about him.

"Well we'll just have to wait and see for tomorrow." He smirked at his response, he couldn't help but think he was being smooth right now.

"I don't think I even said yes yet." She reminded him.
