Chapter One

"Okay guys, be super quiet so we don't wake her up." Jace Maisy and Gianna tiptoed through Bailey's house carrying balloons, cupcakes, gifts and a banner.

"I thought the point was that we do wake her up." Maisy whispered.

"Not until we're ready." Jace opened the door to Bailey's bedroom and walked inside as quickly as possible. Gianna and Maisy hung the banner, while Jace scattered the balloons around the room. Jace placed the presents in the corner and the three gathered by her bed, holding a cupcake with a lit candle. "Ready? 3. 2. 1."

"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Bailey, happy birthday to you!"

Bailey rubbed her eyes and sat up a little. "What are you guys doing here? She mumbled.

"Happy birthday!" They all shouted.

"You guys did all this?" She looked around the decorated room.

"Yep, we sure did!" Maisy smiled.

"Why?" Bailey asked. "The best thing you could have gotten me for my birthday was more sleep."

The three girls looked at each other and just shrugged. "You wanna sleep?" Gianna asked after a long silence.

"Yes." Bailey threw the blanket over her head.

"Sorry, Bae, we just wanted to make this birthday extra special considering your last one was kinda a mess." Maisy shrugged. Bailey mumbled something under the blanket but no one understood.

"Ya, that sixteenth wasn't very sweet." Jace laughed.

Bailey whipped the coves off her head and rolled her eyes. "Would you please let me sleep?"

"Why are you such a downer?" Maisy whinned.

"I just don't like my birthday." Bailey shrugged.

"Oh come on." Gianna sassed. "It wasn't that bad."

"Oh please!" Bailey laughed. "Do I have to remind you of last year?"

"Ya, sure." Gianna smiled, she loved this story.

"Ah!" Bailey whinned. "Fine. One birthday horror story coming up..." Bailey reached over and blew out her candle........
