"What?! Simon are you crazy? We can't just stay here!" Simon pulls up a chair at a near by table and sits down. "Well do you have a better idea?" Markus begins to look around the room with his eyes but he couldn't not think of a better idea. He sighs. "No.." he looks towards Simon who is smirking. It caught Markus by surprise since Simon almost always shows no emotion, so all he did was stare at him which soon ended up making Simon flustered and his face became a faint blue. "S-see.. no other way. We'll just stay the night and sneak out in the morning early enough for you to catch up with North and Josh." It had just hit Markus that he needed to be there with them.

Markus sat down on the floor and sighed. It was silent for a while, but Markus soon spoke. "Simon?" He called his name out only to find Simon in standby. Markus furrowed his eyebrows and pouted. He wasn't in need of standby so Markus ended up walking around the library. He walked by the children's section and explored it. He looked a-z and took out the books he thought looked interesting. He also took out the book Simon never finished reading to him. He took all the books in one hand and walked to the table next to where Simon was. He placed them down gently as to not bother Simon and began to read.

The books Markus had chosen were a kid friendly rewrite of the big bad wolf, Hercules, and sleeping beauty. After he finished those he moved on the Simon's book. Markus felt a strong guilt kicking at him. Maybe there was a reason he didn't finish telling it. Markus thought he was being over dramatic so he shook it off. He opened the book and skipped to the part he left off in.

The knight and the princess had eventually found a place to settle in and when they did, the knight couldn't have been happier. Although they both were drastically different, that was the thing that made them the same. The knight enjoyed every second he spend getting to know the princess and the princess enjoyed it just as well. As time went on, the princess became more beautiful because of the confidence the knight gave her. Unfortunately, the knight had passed away from old age after being with the princess for 10 long years. The princess became so sad and desperate that she took her own life.

Markus immediately stopped reading. Yes that was a dark ending but he couldn't help but to wonder why Simon didn't read this part. He looked over to Simon who was still in standby and Markus eyes him from head to toe. He couldn't help but notice his situation. Simon was unconscious right beside him. He could literally do whatever he wanted and nobody - not even Simon - would know about it. That is unless Simon wasn't in standby and was pretending to be, but why would he pretend? Markus pushed that nasty thought out of his head and started to ridicule his train of thought. Markus stood from his chair and walked infront of Simon. He kneeled and put his hands on his knees. Simon's face was relaxed and calm.

Markus wanted to kiss him. He couldn't though. "Don't.. do it, Markus.." he whispered to himself. "He's your friend, nothing more.." he wanted to believe the words coming out of his mouth but he knew they weren't true. I mean, they slept together and they had practically maken out. He was just trying to find an excuse to not kiss him on the spot. "Just this once.." Markus leaned up to Simon's face but before their lips to collide Markus sensed his body temperature increase. He panicked because he knew Simon was starting to turn on his system coolers meaning he was activating, he ended up laying his head on Simon's lap making it seem as if he was in standby. Markus could feel Simon's heart rate increase. Great. He thought. To his surprise, Simon didn't do anything.

He must have seen me.. it was quiet for a second. "I know you're awake, Markus."

Shit. "I may not be conscious but you shouldn't be getting any ideas." Simon lifted Markus' head from his arms so he was now looking straight into Simon's eyes. Much to his surprise, Simon leaned his head in and kissed Markus. He didn't know if this was a test or he was being serious, but he didn't care. Markus kissed back only to be cut off early. "Is that what you wanted?" Markus didn't answer. "By the look on your face I think it is." He smiled a wide grin. "Now will you go into standby?" He didn't know if he should oblige or just ignore his comment and keep kissing him. He would be able to control himself this time but he probably wouldn't be able to the next. He sighed and laid his head back down on Simon's lap.

"Fine." Simon jolted in surprise when he did. "Here?!" Markus didn't respond. He sighed and smiled to himself. "You're a handful, you know that?" Still no response. Simon was unsure if Markus had gone into standby so quickly, but after he left Simon unanswered he was sure that Markus was not conscious. He strives to do the same but he couldn't. He didn't know if it was the fact that Markus was on his lap or that he was simply fully charged.

It stayed that way for awhile until Simon noticed Markus twitching every now and then. He figured that it was just a malfunction in Markus' system but he continued to do so. Simon became worried. Was it Markus' system? He kept thinking until he came to a conclusion. Markus was having a nightmare.

They're very uncommon for androids. They are usually symptoms of high blood pressure or memory overload. For Markus, nightmares were very common. But for Simon, not so much. Every android in the world saw Markus as this big hero who freed them from their prison. Simon didn't understand it but he didn't question it.

Simon tried shaking Markus so he could snap out of his state of mind. "Markus.." Simon lightly shook his shoulder. Nothing. Simon grabbed Markus' hand and squeezed it. When he did, he felt something. He felt loneliness, sadness, isolation, and abandonment. Simon didn't understand how he was feeling these things. But he really didn't want to feel them.
