A Second Chance In Love
Silence fill the car on our way back home. I'm still shock from seeing the bullet in EJ's hand, how could a normal human being give that to a child. Ethan quietly driving keeping his focus on the road while I sit in the back with EJ. I'm too scared to let him alone after what happened earlier and I have no idea who he was with.
Ethan didn't say anything and a bitter feeling stir up in my chest of the thought of Stone. Does he find out Ethan is alive? But how? If he know then we are in danger and that message he sent send shiver of fear down my body.
Finally the car stop into Ethan drive way. He exit first looking around before opening the door and take sleeping EJ from my arms. After getting EJ tuck in bed Ethan sent two of his guards to stand by his room door. He also had extra guards on every angle of his house and send the maids home.
"Brook I'm so sorry for what happened today... I don't kno--
"Is that message from Stone?" I ask with trembling voice.
"Yes... It has to be him... But how did he know I'm still alive and where to find me. F**k!" he say raking his hands roughly through is hair.
"He's gonna come after us, isn't he? What if he try hurting EJ? We should go to the police and re-
"No.. I won't let him hurt you or EJ, I'll protect you both with my life.... We can't get the police involve, its not a good idea."
"But he's out there Ethan, he know about me, EJ and that you're alive... The police need to know about the threat he sent" I angrily shout at him.
We should go to the police for help. Maybe they can locate him and put him away. I've heard he's a very dangerous man and god to tell what he would do to us. I can't let anything happen to EJ and I can't loose Ethan for real this time.
Why does this have to happen? Every thing was going so great, a fresh start for Ethan and I and now there's a big problem that could cause anyone of us life.
"Listen to me Brook, I won't let anything happen to you or my son... We won't involve the police ok just trust me" he say placing both hands on my shoulder.
"What are you go--- oh my god!" I gasp placing my hands over my mouth.
"What is it? What's wr--
"Its him... He's the one been following me around in that black Ferrari" I mumble
"What?" Ethan ask staring deep into my eyes.
A slightly headache creep up on me and I drop myself on the bed, staring blank on the ceiling. I feel the dip of the bed and Ethan hands pulling me close to him. I then start telling him about the times I've seen the black Ferrari in CT and since I've been here. I have no doubt of stone being following me around.
"And you didn't say anything to me? How could you not say anything Brook?" His voice stronger and serious than before.
"I was going to report it to the police, then you happened and I totally forgot" I say sitting up on the bed.
"You've been followed for months brook and you forgot?" He sarcastically say glaring at me. " what if he did came after you or EJ? Goddamit!" He yell punching the wall which cause me to flinch.
He's angry, very angry but he can't be seriously blaming me. Yes I should have say something or report it but all this that happened and finding out he's alive just got me distracted. I forgot about that damn car, I was focus on him, EJ and a new start for us. I curl my knees to my chest and rest my chin on them.
Tears start dripping down my face and I silently sobbing. I don't want to die, I don't want to loose anyone I love. I want this dream to be over....
"I'm sorry Brook... I shouldn't be angry at you, I need to find that son of a bitch before he think of hurting my family" he wrap his arms around me, pulling me close to him.
"What are you gonna do?" I ask sobbing.
"Talk to my father"
He press his lips to my forehead and pull me tighter to him. I could hear the sound of his heart beat and his heavy breathing in my hair.
"I love you Brook and I'm not leaving you or EJ again. We belong together and I won't let stone ruin that.... I'll ruin him first" his voice lacing with anger.

I stare back at my reflection in the mirror, my eyes still looking worried and fearful of the monster that's out there. Two days ago he placed a bullet in my baby hand and I'm very livid about it. Ethan contact his dad and he'll be here later today.
Ethan moved in a few of EJ and my things so we could stay at his place for protection. I brush my hair in a loose ponytail before brushing my teeth. I walk back in the room seeing Ethan still sleeping. Putting on my sports bra and leggings, I grab a pair of white sneaker to go for run.
I need to clear my head to much is going on in there. I close the door behind me and stroll down to EJ's room.
"Good morning madam" Chris and Charles greet as I reach the door. They are the two guards that's guarding EJ room.
"Good morning" I reply
They give me way to enter and I quietly close the door behind me. My little Angel curl up in bed with his green reptile teddy in his arms. He is sound asleep and I didn't want to wake him up.
"I love you so much" I whisper, kissing his forehead then pull his blanket over him.
The cool breeze hit me as I open the front door but it is relaxing. I throw in my earpiece and scroll through my playlist for a relaxing song. I stop on 'Cardi B I like it like that' and attach the phone to my waist. I jog down to the main gate greeting the guards at the gate.
"Madam... One of us of to go with you" Pete say which is the head guards of the premises.
"No need.... I'm good" I smile jogging off but he stop me again.
"Sir instructed us madam, we should be guarding you and his son madam"
"Its Brook not madam and I said I'm good... I'm just going for a run and I won't go far" I sternly reply.
I give him a "No one follow me" look and jog off, placing my earpiece back in my ears. The cool breeze is so relaxing and the songs playing in my ears slow down my heavy thinking. I jog a few laps around the estate, I notice how beautiful this estate is and the wealthy people that live here.
Fear starting taking over me when I notice I am too far from the house without any guards and no one on the street. I make a 'U' turn back I the direction of the house. My feet is aching and my breath slowing down causing me to stop.
My hands rest on my knees as I try gaining my breathing back. I haven't run in a while. Just a few more minutes and I'll start stop panting hard and get back to the house.
