Our footsteps pound against the wet grass as thunder roars. The rain hit my eyes, making it hard for me to see.
"They're right behind us!" Melvin shouted. "Just across that bridge!" He yelled but the rain was too thick for me to see anything.
I followed the sound of his footsteps, along with the others. Then, we finally arrived at the bridge. They all crossed over easily, except Elisa. She was shaking furiously, because one misstep would lead to her early death.
"Come on, Elisa..It's not that hard." Cooed Chris, stepping forward. She swallowed and slowly nodded. Then there were heavy footsteps just a few feet away from her, growing louder.
The storm raged on as she ran across the slick wood. She made it halfway then suddenly—
The wooden planks broke.
I cried as James tried to catch her, but he didn't reach her in time.
She closed her eyes and accepted her fate.
~~~~~~~
I let out a small sob as Elisa fell. "Elisa!" He shouted into the abyss, tears choking him.
"We have to go James! We can't—"
"Shut up!" I cut Jeremiah off, my fists clenching tightly, my fingernails digging into my skin.
My vision became foggy as tears blurred my eyesight. I lost Elisa. I wasn't going to lose another person again.
I loaded my gun with ammo.
"James, you know that's—"
"I know what I'm doing, asshole!" I hissed, aiming for the woman's head.
The world stops. Everything stops.
And I finally pull the trigger.
Her yell rang through the night sky, like a wolf's howl. Her blood splatters against the planks, brain matter spraying everywhere.
"Motherfucker.." My hands were shaking, but it was worth it. She's gone. She's finally gone.
That bitch is finally dead. She killed Elisa, so I killed her.
~~~~~~~
My head's ringing loudly. What the hell.. I tried to sit up, but my whole body was numb. I tried opening my eyes but to no avail. I couldn't see anything.
"Wake up.." A voice whispered, and it felt like tendrils curling around me. "Wake up.." It repeated, with a slight edge to it. Then it sighed "I think I killed her.." There was incoherent mumbling, then the voice answered with surprise.
"Really? She's alive? Oh..okay.." Their grip looses as I was placed on the cold floor. I silently shivered. I tensed up for a moment, waiting for anything to make a sound. When I thought they had left, I groaned a little bit. Then I heard a gasp.
"She's alive! Thank the heavens!" I managed to crack my eyes open and see a man around my age, his upper half is human while the lower...was tendrils. Thousands and thousands of tendrils running down his back and legs. The tendrils were a crimson red, like the colour blood.
His face is relaxed and soft, no wrinkles in sight. His hair is the colour of hazel brown and his eyes are bright green. His skin is dreadfully pale and his ribs are poking out of his chest.
"Ah..are you okay?" He whispers, take a step I guess, towards me. I nodded but I was scared to death. Who the fuck is he?! Why did he bring me here??
I'm scared. I can't breath.
Please don't hurt me.
~~~~~~Hello! I see you found this book under loads of others. If so, congrats! I'm using this book as a writing prompt book so that when I find it after a few years, I might continue! If it ends on a cliffhanger, it may be that I have no inspiration anymore QwQ
Anyways, see you!
Elisa, out~
