Chapter 7: THE HUNT FOR SKOLAS PART 2

(NEXT DAY: TENGFEI'S PERSONAL JUMPSHIP EN ROUTE TO VENUS)

" The House of Wolves is on the march. They're surrounding Vex strongholds across the Ishtar Sink...Every soldier under his command is down there. Skolas has either gone completely insane, or he's become a tactical genius. I love fieldwork, but the hunt must end now. " Petra explained over comms as Tengfei and Mulan listened carefully.

" I've got your instructions clear! " Tengfei nodded.

" Good luck, Kree man! " his Ghost beamed.

(PLANET VENUS)

Tengfei landed in the Ishtar Cliffs with Mulan joining him shortly after. He immediately began travelling to the designated coordinates Petra had sent him. He also started fighting off new, hostile, mechanical beings. Petra told him they were called the Vex. Using his void energy, Tengfei was able to strike through most of the Vex before pressing forward. Suddenly, Skolas' voice was heard angrily roaring in his own Fallen tongue. The Kree Voidwalker turned around, trying to find him, but only realized it was being broadcasted via the comms. Variks translated the words for him.

" Skolas said, 'I am Kell of Kells. All Houses shall burn. All will bow before the Wolfbanner.' " 

 " Well, the Kell of Kells's house has to be burned down! " the purple Female Ghost exclaimed.

" Ready as I am, " her Kree owner nodded heading towards a series of ancient structures. His helmet indicated this region was named the Walking Ruins.

" I'm getting a Fallen comm channel interlaced with Vex coding. Whatever he's doing, I've never seen anything like this before. He's mad! " Petra anxiously spoke.

Tengfei arrived in the Ruins, only to find that the Fallen had broken through some sort of massive door in a cliff wall. Several Vex units now missing their heads. He thought they were furiously attempting to defend it against the Wolves. 

 " Okay, that's not a good sign. The Wolves are assaulting the Vault of Glass. What is Skolas planning..? " her words trailed off, but she gasped shortly after. " They've cracked the seal on the Vault! Get in there Teng. We have to stop them! "

 " On it! " he exclaimed in reply.

Ignoring the Vex and Fallen's quarrel, Tengfei snuck his way to the Vault entrance, which laid broken and bare. A few Fallen guarded the opening, but he killed them quickly. He then continued on, entering the Vault of Glass for the first time alone.

" Skolas' going crazy is the good version here...I've seen reports from Prince Uldren's Crows—reports about the technology of the Vault. Really, just... awful stuff. "

Tengfei continued arriving at a rather stable platformed area in the Vault . A few dozen Fallen patrolled the area, including Servitors, Captains, and Stealth Vandal snipers. The Kree Voidwalker jumped down to the bottom, dispatching the Snipers perched on top of higher places first. A few Captains then charged at him but his experiences allowed him to avoid their viscous sword strikes and kill them. All that was left were the Servitors which he used his Void energy to kill. But suddenly, A chime was heard. It caught his ear and a cube of growing bright light unexpectedly appeared in the area.

" Bad, very bad! Wolves trying to tap Oracles. Big glowing squares. Tengfei, destroy the Oracles. Destroy them fast! " Variks cried.

" We're going to finish this no matter what! " he said.

" Good! " Mulan nodded. Tengfei took aim at it and fired at it, destroying the Oracle. Another soon spawned after it.

" Oracle has appeared." Variks said.

Tengfei was about to head over, but that's when he realized that the Wolves were pouring in whilst he was trying to deal with the Oracles. He fought through a few Dregs to get to the newest Oracle and succeeded in destroying it.

" An Oracle. Destroy! " Variks said.

" You got to be kidding me..." Tengfei sighed.

Tengfei continued with the cycle of fighting through Fallen Wolves and destroying the Oracles until finally Variks told him: " One more Oracle. "

He destroyed it with a pulse of Void Energy from his right hand. The Kree Inhuman heavily sighed in his helmet when he heard Petra's voice.

" Variks, good work. Tengfei, even better! " she praised him. " Clear out the rest of those Wolves and we'll talk."

" I can do this all day! " Tengfei determinedly spoke as he energized his hands.

" That's the spirit, Man of Kree! " Mulan cheered.

A few dozen Fallen Wolves, including several Scorch Captains, poured in through several entrances. He began firing at a few of them, killing a lot of Dregs and a couple Vandals. Just then, a Captain tried to slice him and succeeded, striking Tengfei's back. The Kree Inhuman cried as he hit the ground, still able to get back up. Knowing the Fallen Captain was still behind him, he rolled to his left just as it tried to stab him with it's sword, shooting it.

He had had enough and concentrated enough of his Void Energy to evaporate most of the Fallen Wolves with a large Void attack. He fell to the ground and collapsed to his knees, void of all energy he would've had.

" So Skolas wanted to use the Oracles as taps into the Vex network. This isn't just a hunt. A Fallen House with Vex technology is a threat to the whole system. " Petra concluded.

" Things simple now, yes? We find Skolas, we put an end to Kell of Kells. Or... Wolves put an end to us. "
