After their movie Khadeen got ready and left her house with Junior. She kissed him bye as she hopped on the bus to meet up with Melissa. Junior was surprised at the kiss but happy things were slowly becoming better. Khadeen met Melissa at Devon House and Melissa shared her information,

"I visited the people she knew and the people that hated her, all that's left is her ex-boyfriends."

Khadeen stared at her in disbelief, "You did all that without me?"

Melissa shrugged, "Your ass is always late and I didn't have any intention of staying here waiting all day so I made use of the time while I waited. I also figured you were shacked up with that useless boyfriend of yours so why would I intrude."

Khadeen rolled her eyes, "How'd you like it if I called Warren useless or better yet tell him he's only being used as research for your thesis." She wiggled her eyebrows at Melissa suggestively and Melissa's expression grew dark.
"Fine you win. But contrary to your thoughts I'm not using him, I actually like this one."
"Somehow I doubt that, you only feel something for him when he is around but once he isn't it's like he doesn't exist to you."
"Feelings are weird okay, I like him but I don't make him the center of my world."
"Whatever you tell yourself to sleep at night Miss Scarlet."

Khadeen sometimes hated Melissa's overbearing independence. She argued that Melissa was too much of a control freak and boys would probably run away from her the moment she opened her mouth. Melissa often walked around with a smirk on her face and was often too blunt for her own good. It was a miracle Warren stuck around.

Finally settling down to business after their chat, they decided to meet the ex-boyfriends of Shanakay. The part of Devon House they chose was slightly secluded in case they had to rough up one or two of the boys. Devon house was also convenient for all the boys she called. Arnold was the first to make an appearance and Melissa took one look at him and she didn't like him at all. Khadeen smiled and greeted him then motioned for him to sit. Melissa didn't give him a chance to be comfortable before she started drilling the Indian guy with questions. Melissa started,

"Arnold we have a pressing matter on our hands and we would like to ask you a few questions."

Arnold responded, "Questions? Why are you questioning me?"

Melissa smirked at his response, "Don't get your panties in a bunch honey, you might hurt yourself. The matter at hand is simple. Shanakay is missing and we're just curious to know when last did you see her?"

"Excuse me! I haven't seen her since I left her three years ago. Is this what you call me for? Fuck yawl!" He got up and stormed off.

Khadeen had gotten agitated by what he had said and wanted to punch him but she opted not to as she was learning to control her explosive anger.
Melissa crossed him off the list and laughed to herself, "Shanakay sure knows how to pick them."

Next was Jordan, Khadeen had already deemed him a perverted sexaholic. She remembered him telling Shanakay that every girl he had would have to have sex with him on his carpet. What a creep, that carpet must've been disgusting. He came wearing old clothes that had obviously passed their due date and he sat there biting his lip. Melissa looked at him with pitiful eyes and said,

"When was the last time you saw Shanakay?"

He looked at them and said, "She diss me so mi nah look fi di bitch."

Melissa was about to curse him but Khadeen held her back and before Jordan could react she kicked him off the chair he sat on. He fell to the ground with a thud and his expression became angry. He stood up to grab her but Melissa held a knife to his throat,
"I wouldn't do that if I were you Jordan," she spoke his name with venom. "Now you're going to answer my question and then walk out of here with your tail between your legs before I slit your throat and end your miserable life."

He was taken aback by what had transpired between them. He hadn't expected that these two girls could be so lethal. He quickly took his bag then straightened himself. Before he left he spoke,

"Like I said I haven't seen her."

Melissa looked at him up and down, "Alright, that will be all."

Rasheed was no different. They clearly saw what Shanakay liked about him. He was another Indian and for some reason Shanakay was a sucker for short, brown, Indian guys. There was no denying he was a catch but Melissa let out a laugh when she discovered his uni-brow. Khadeen had to take over with the questioning because Melissa could not contain herself. His reply was like that of the previous two. He had not seen her.
Tevoney, who they suspected, turned out to be innocent as well due to the fact that his alibi checked out. They had started to get irritated because all their leads were proving to be dead ends. They started interviewing David who also said he hadn't seen her. Khadeen looked at him from head to toe and shook her head, she didn't buy his story for one minute but unfortunately she had no proof to show that David was guilty. There was just something about him that didn't settle right with her. After he walked off Khadeen shared her concern with Melissa,

"I think David has something to do with Shanakay being missing."

"Khadeen, why would you think that?"

"I know so, he has that innocent guy look, plus he was lying, his eyes were twitching."

Melissa laughed, "Really Khadeen? Eyes twitching? I swear you watch too much television."

She stopped laughing when she looked at how serious Khadeen was.

"You're serious aren't you? Alright maybe you are right. We'll check it out but if it's a dead end you're gonna buy me a bucket of the expensive ice cream that this place is famous for."

Following after David, they saw him getting in his car and they got into Melissa's Toyota Mark X and followed him. They followed him for what seemed like an hour before they came to a two story building but he drove through the electronic gate and it immediately closed behind him.

"Damn!" Melissa exclaimed, "We got to get in there."

"Alright," Khadeen started, "We'll get some gear and come back at nightfall and sneak in."

"Good call, " Melissa replied as she started the car. Khadeen turned away from her and smiled,

"With all this chase I didn't even get a chance to check out the scenery. It is pretty beautiful up here. I think I like Point Hill. It's a lot of hills but the view is breathtaking."

Melissa looked at Khadeen and shook her head. "I wish you'd grow up sometimes."

"Wait what?" Khadeen asked but Melissa did not reply.

Khadeen smiled to herself and then continued to watch the scenery until she drifted off the sleep.
