Yugyeom climbed up behind Jackson on the horse, arms around his upper body so he didn't fall. He rested his forehead against the broad shoulder, eyes closing. He ignored the chattering, and his step mothers talking of disbelief. He had wanted to believe that he was safe now; even wanting to believe the other truly did love him like he said at the party.
"Prince..?"
"Yes, Yugyeom?"
Yugyeom smiled at the soft tone, as if Jackson was speaking to a fragile being,
"Are you not mad at me..?"
"Why would i be mad?"
Jackson questioned, mainly surprised about it. He looked at Yugyeom over his shoulder, swooning over how the boy had lifted his head, and held a cute conflicted look,
"Because i lied about my family... And i ran from you."
"You had your reasons, Yugyeom. If i was mad, i wouldn't have taken you out of that sick household."
Jackson explained, before looking forward,
"Sometimes you have to follow your heart than your brain. And that's what i did. I followed my way to you.''
Yugyeom blushed immediately at that, hiding his face into his back again, holding onto him tightly. He let out a sigh of relief and smiled a bit. He felt the horse stop, and soon Jackson nudging him to let go. He did so, allowing the prince to get down and to help him down. He took Jacksons hand, letting him lead him into the giant castle, and down a hall.
He fidgeted slightly, knowing he'd be meeting the king, and sadly he wasn't dressed for it. He definitely wasn't mentally prepared, because after all he was a stuttering mess when he first met Jackson. Jackson opened one of the giant doors, and tugged Yugyeom in, the king looking up from a table.
"Ah, who is this, Jackson?"
The king smiled widely, mirroring the same smile Jackson had. Yugyeom bowed in respect, his hand still in Jacksons since the prince refused to let go,
"Im Kim Yugyeom, my king."
Jackson smiled softly at him,
"He's the boy i fell in love with, dad. The one i was talking about."
"I admit.. he's cute.'"
Yugyeom blushed again, shifting slightly. Jackson nodded in agreement, soon becoming serious which surprised everyone in there,
"Father. Yugyeom has been treated like a slave in his home."
"Slaves aren't uncom-''
"It was his own family. And do you know what you say about family?"
"That you should treat them with the upmost care.."
"They had him locked in his room, mind you which was an attic in a beautiful mansion. She called him a pest and a dog. Her two sons didn't even do anything!"
Jackson exclaimed, before calming down when Yugyeom gripped his hand a bit,
"I.. want to have him live here. I want to court him, to get to know him better. I want to make him fall in love with me, and i want to fall even more. If you allow me to do that father, i will ask for nothing else."
Jackson bowed immediately. Yugyeom widened his eyes, looking at the prince in shock,
"P-prince.."
Yugyeom muttered, who soon looked at him,
"Please, call me Jackson.."
Yugyeom's heart skipped a beat at that, before nodding. The king hummed,
"Alright.. Yugyeom you have permission to live here while Jackson courts you. And once it's done, i guess you're his chosen one."
Yugyeom smiled, and giggled when Jackson jumped in glee, before bowing again, Yugyeom doing so as well,
"Sorry for interrupting!"
Jackson claimed, before leading Yugyeom out,
"Come on, i'll show you where you will stay in. It'll be close to me, so if anything happens you'll have me to protect you!"
Yugyeom frowned, before stopping, causing Jackson to do so as well. The prince looked at him confused,
"Prince.. Well, Jackson. I really appreciate all this.. Im honestly.. this is the happiest i have ever been since my real mother.."
He trailed off, Jackson smiling understanding the other words. What he did expect to see was the bright smile on his face, that made his eyes scrunch up,
"Thank you, Jackson.. For making me believe in love again."
