" You continued to walk but found nothing. "No... " You sighed. After a few hours of looking and taking your pocket knife to mark trees Evert 50 yards or so, you gave up and walked back to your car giving one final scan of the tree line. Nothing. You started your car and drove off. You were upset. You would come back tomorrow since the sun was setting and it was getting cold.
