"Kaylee?"
My eyes flew open.
He was looking directly at me with wide eyes. My heart started to flutter as I moved a step closer to him. I gave him a small wave with a grin on my face and whispered the words
"hey Wolfhard".
The crowd was confused. They couldn't see me of course as I was still behind the curtain. What would happen if I stepped out? Would they like me being here or would they hate it?
None of that mattered at this very moment in time as I stared at Finn. He looked like an adorable two year old with that grin of his. That's a good sign- he was actually happy to see me.
He stepped a little closer to me but there was still a good distance between us both, so we couldn't hear each other over the crowd.
He looked out to the crowd and back at me and said
"Alrighty everyone, how about an intermission? We'll be back very soon, so don't go anywhere".
After he said this he dropped the mic and ran over to me only to pull me into a hug.
Being in his embrace was indescribable. It's like wanting something for so long but never knowing what it is until it comes, and in this case it's Finn.
"Hey Wolfhard."
"Hey Hazel. I didn't think you could come". He whispered.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world" I said against his shoulder. I only just realised how tall he actually is.
"Did you have a growths spurt or something? You're a freaking giant compared to me" I said jokingly.
"No i'm the normal sized one here, you're just tiny" He said while laughing.
"Hey!" I said as I jokingly punched his shoulder and rolled my eyes
He looked at me as if he didn't believe I was real.
"Hey, c'mon I have something to show you" He said while taking my hand.
"Where are we going"? I asked
"You'll see" He said
We pushed passed everyone backstage, hand in hand. We climbed a ladder up to some secluded room but inside, it was something like a dream. Every wall was covered head to toe in comments and signatures from bands who have played at this arena. From a few words to a couple of paragraphs, every inch of this room was covered.
I didn't believe my eyes.
"Finn.. this is incredible" I said, amazed.
"How'd you even know it was up here"? I asked
Finn smiled and said "well it's a long story.. one that would keep the audience waiting for hours."
I smiled. "Yeah wouldn't want that to happen. I can't even imagine what the headlines would say".
"I know right, they can go a bit overboard sometimes" he stated. "Anyways, I was thinking we should add to the wall"
"You should go for it! I don't think I should cause I'm not a musician" I said to him.
"Bullshit! Of course you should, c'mon let's do it together".
Finn lifted my arm up and placed a marker in my hand.
"Go for it" he said.
I lifted the marker and wrote 'Kaylee was here' in bold writing.
He smiled and underneath, wrote the same thing.
"I think we should go down now, the fans are probably waiting." I said to him.
"Yeah good idea."
We hopped up and headed backstage so Finn could perform the last two songs. I honestly don't know how he does it every time, just looking at the stage for me is nerve wracking.
"Break a leg" I whispered.
"Thank hazel" he said while grinning.
And then he walked on. But pulled me with him.
