Bella's POV; Dean had driven my bike to Jacob's while I was getting my tattoo, Sam had gone with him (in the Impala) so that Dean didn't have to walk from Jake's house. We had just left Washington and were heading into Oregon. It would be an almost twenty hour drive but with Dean's driving it was likely to only be ten or so hours. "So dad was checking out this two lane black drop just outside Jericho. About a month a ago this guy-" Dean said, passing me a photo of the man. "-Vanished. Completely MIA" Sam continued for Dean. I glanced at the paper then at the brothers. "So, maybe he was kidnapped" I concluded. It could be true. "He isn't the only one Bella. Ten people have gone missing over the last twenty years. All of them male and all of them on the same stretch of road" Sam informed me. Well damn. Looks like we ain't getting out of this one, although this is the only lead we have to finding John. "It started happening more and more so dad went to dig around. But that was three weeks ago and I haven't heard from him since, which is bad enough. Then I got got this voice mail from him two days ago" Dean told me. "He showed me and he discovered before he got me that the voice mail had a lot of EVP in the background. So he slowed it down and took away all the hissing and stuff and this is what he got" Sam said, pressing play on the recording. A raspy, bone-chilling, freaky voice of a woman said: 'I can never go home'. "Well shit. Any idea on what it is?" I asked, hopeful that we could take care of this case quickly and find John. "Wait.... If Sam was in Stanford when you picked him up.... That means you asshats drove at least an extra 800 miles to come get me! Seriously?! If you needed me that bad why not come get me first and save time, petrol and energy?!" I shouted at Dean. "Er... Well I wasn't going to involve you but Sam said if you weren't helping then he wouldn't so we came and got you" Dean sighed. "Really Sam? You guys just couldn't have called?" I inquired. "No, we need you here" Sam insisted. I groaned and muttered 'whatever' under my breath and went to sleep. __________________|~|_________________
