About:
Saying Kevin Pang isn't the thinnest fourteen-year-old around is the understatement of the year. He's not smart, either, or particularly smooth with the ladies. He's never able to meet his Chinese parents' expectations, and his kid sister can school him in...well, life. However, ninth grade brings a whirlwind of parties, crazy grandparents, musicals that aren't really musicals, and even girls - all of which could change Kevin's life.
Can he climb out of his overlarge shell and prove there's a brilliant skinny kid inside him? Or is he doomed to a life of ridicule forever?

Opinion:
I loved this book SO MUCH! It's absolutely hilarious but also showcases issues related to fat shaming in subtle ways and pressure faced by students from parents. And at the same time it doesn't make the story boring in any way. The characters are unique and each share a different kind of relation with Kevin, all of which are beautiful. And Kevin is amazing. I love how he tries to find humour in even the worst situations and how smart he is despite him constantly under-estimating himself. Also, I read Mathematics of Love (the sequel/spin-off) and it's surprising how the author could change her writing style so easily when switching views between different kinds of people. Both of these books are amazing but I think I'll always like this one more because of Kevin and the issues it deals with.
