Part 8:
That was exactly two years ago, and what had started off their relationship. Hailie thought about this as she drove to the restaurant her and Harry were going to for their one year anniversary. They celebrated the day they met, not the day they started going out, like most people. Harry said they should do it this way because "when he met Hailie his world changed forever". Hailie smiled. She was so lucky. Not because he was famous or because he was rich, but because he was sweet, kind, caring, and not to mention fit! She pulled up at the restaurant, and saw the boys' shared car that's always at the house. It's weird that he didn't get a taxi like normal, usually they go home in only one car, if you know what I mean ;). She shrugged at gave her name at the desk. The waiter lead her inside. She could see him looking at her in the dress she had on, but she pushed it off. She was with Harry, and she loved him. She saw that very man at the corner table, away from everyone else. This was weird, usually he got a balcony table outside in the midst of the atmosphere. He was twiddling his thumbs and tapping his foot. Was he nervous about something? Once again, she shook it off and walked over to the table. "hello Harry" she said, leaning to kiss him, but instead he hugged her half-around the shoulder, sort of like a friend would. That was embarrassing. She sat down and opened her menu, and the waitress was straight over about drinks. Harry said they weren't ready, and waved her away. That was rude, Hailie thought. Harry still hadn't said anything to her, so she decided to start a conversation. "so I haven't seen you all week, I missed you" she smiled. He sighed, and put his hands in his lap. "Harry? What's wrong, honey?" he met her eyes for the first time. "look, Hailie, this isn't going to be easy. In fact, I think it's going to be the hardest thing I've ever done in my life" she looked away to her right. She knew what was coming. "see, recently I think we've grown apart, and what with me going on tour tomorrow, and the band producing the album, I just think it'd be best if we just.. Called it off for a while, have a break, you know?" Hailie didn't say anything. He was wrong. They had grown closer, she thought. Yeah, it'd be hard for them when Harry goes on tour, but they'll just do what they always do. Wait for each other. "Hailie say something" she snapped back into reality at Harry's words. She inhaled sharply. "well, Harry, if that's what you think. I suppose all the things you've said are true" she was getting her bag and fixing her hair as she was saying this. "thank you, for everything. It'll be hard, but I guess if that's what you want, let it be" she got up, kissed his cheek and began walking. She paused. "bye Harry" and left the restaurant. She sat into the car and began driving. Harry put his head on the table. What had he done? She wasn't even gone two minutes and he missed her already. This is what management wanted? For him to be miserable? Then so be it, he would be miserable. Hailie was his happiness, and without her, he was nothing. He got up, got into the car and drove to the bar. He walked inside, and it was basically empty, except for the bartender and his wife, and a couple in the corner, the blond sitting in top of her boyfriend, giggling and moaning. Harry sighed. Him and Hailie used to be like that. "3 vodkas please" he said, sitting down at the bar. "sure honey, what do you want with em?" she had a New Jersey accent. "nothing" he said lowly. "you sure? They're awful powerful" he nodded. That's exactly what he needed. She poured them out, and he drank them all down, and continued to do that for the night. At three in the morning, the bartender stopped him when he asked for three more. "You've had enough, son" and patted his shoulder. He went round the side of the bar, put Harry into a booth so he wouldn't fall, and got his wife to look for a phone. "here" Harry said, pointing to the pocket. She pulled it out, and scanned thought the contacts. "now, who do you live with, son?" the bartender asked Harry. Harry thought long and hard, before saying "my- my brothers" she nodded. "can I get one of their names, that preferably aren't drinking tonight?" she scrolled through the list of names, landing on N. "what about Niall?" she clicked on the name, looking at the drunken mess lying down in her booth. Harry nodded. "ring Nialler, he can drive now" he said, laughing. She clicked the dial button, before putting it up to her ear. It rang three times before someone picked it up. "hello?" an Irish accent said on the other end of the phone. "hi, it's Clarice of The Bull's Bar on Acorn Avenue?" the voice paused, then said "right, how can I help yah?" she looked at Harry. She didn't know his name. "we have a boy here who claims to be your brother? About 19, curly brown hair, blue blazer, green eyes.." the voice cut her off. "ah, Harry! Ye, I'll be down to pick him up in five minutes" she nodded, and the phone call was disconnected. She put his phone back in his pocket, then began closing up. She heard the door open. "sorry, we're closed!" she shouted from the back. "I'm here to pick up Harry!" it was the boy on the phone. "oh right, be right out!" she locked the last window. She walked out into the main bar, and saw four very young, very good looking boys standing at the door. She knew she recognised them from somewhere, she just didn't know where. She pointed at Harry. "this booth here, honies" she stood by the door, waiting to lock it as they left. "uhh.. Thank you, love" the oldest boy in stripes said. "no problem, boys" she closed the door, and locked it. Every night's the same, she thought.
"Harry! We were worried sick about you!" Paul said as the boys carried Harry in the door. "yeah, well, I'm fine" he grumbled, plonking down on the couch. "what happened? You didn't tell anyone where you were going!" Paul was angry. He looks at Harry like a nephew, and is very protective of him. "I dumped Hailie" Harry mumbled. "what was that?!" Paul said. "I SAID I DUMPED HAILIE!! HAPPY NOW?!" Harry screamed, before realising what he said. "I've.. I've dumped Hailie.." he broke down in tears. All the boys were taken aback. Harry hardly ever cries. Like almost never. He was now on the floor, his head in his hands and rocking back and forth. "Harry, you need to-" Liam began. "NO! I NEED HAILIE! I LOVE HER! I WANT TO MARRY HER AND I WANT HER TO HAVE MY CHILDREN! BUT THAT CAN'T HAPPEN NOW, BECAUSE OF-" they were interrupted by a firm voice. "you, Harry, because of you" Simon. Simon was in the house because they rang him saying Harry hadn't come home. "what?!" Harry was calming down. He had to, if Simon was there. "you're the one that's giving her a bad reputation. We need someone who's bad, like Angel, not good like Hailie" Simon crossed his arms. "I don't want Angel" Harry said, shakily. Angel was Harry's ex. She was trouble. He was not going down that road again. "I'm going to bed" Harry pushed past everyone, and went upstairs. He threw his clothes on the floor, and got into bed. On the bed was a photo frame. He picked it up, and started crying again. It was his favourite photo. It was the one on their six month anniversary. Harry was giving Hailie a piggy-back. Her blond curls mixed with his chocolate curls. Her blue eyes glistened in the light of the sparkler Harry was holding. She was kissing him on the cheek, and holding his face in her small hands. A tear fell on her perfect face, and he wiped it off. He wished he had more photos like this. Then he remembered something. He got his phone, went to his pictures, and clicked on the album "One Direction (:" he scrolled down to the bottom, and clicked on the last picture. Louis took it the other day while they were out. Hailie was in Harry's arms, her body close to his, his arms around her waist and hers around his neck. They were kissing. It was his other favourite picture. Any picture of Hailie was his favourite. He clicked out of the photos and set the picture as his lock screen photo. He saw he had notifications on twitter, so he checked them. Just general "follow me's" he followed a few back, and was scrolling through the trends when he saw the one "#Hailie'sHurt" he raced to click on her page. Luckily, she was in his favourites recently. The top tweet result for "Hailie Anderson" was: "don't take for granted what's not for certain. Appreciate what you have and live in the moment. Don't hold grudges, forgive and forget. Never fall in love too fast. Don't hurt something that's valuable to you. I learned that the hard way" Harry sighed. She was so wise. He clicked on the #Hailie'sHurt trend, and his name came up. "@Harry_Styles did you do this to her? Hahahaha knew I couldn't trust you #Hailie'sHurt" he scrolled through more. "@Hailiee_xx deserves something much better than @Harry_Styles anyways. He treated her like shit #Hailie'sHurt" the last one got him. "@Hailie_xx is so much better off without @Harry_Styles anyways, at least now she won't have to deal with a clingy, jealous, cheating asshole anymore #GirlsStickTogether #Hailie'sHurt" Harry was scrolling through his timeline, when he got a mention. It was a twit longer from Hailie. The tweet read; "@Harry_Styles @(Directioner's Twitter) (twitlonger link)" Harry clicked on the link. "Hey guys,
From reading some of your tweets tonight, I can tell you I'm very unhappy and extremely disappointed in all of you, Directioners.
Harry is not a regret of mine. He's not a cheat. He doesn't lie. He doesn't beat. He isn't clingy or jealous. He's a gentleman. He has respect for women. He treats everyone fairly. Yeah, we had a good relationship, and I'm sad to see it over, but you know, somethings in life just don't work out the way we want it to. Harry and I had no problems, but the long-distance thing got a bit much for us. We will remain friends, and stick by each other, we just won't be going out anymore. I hope you can accept that and support our decisions. I still love all of you, and will never forget all the people I've met over the last year. Hailie xx" Harry smiled. She was brilliant. Really, truly brilliant. He clicked reply, and took out the Directioner's twitter name. "@Hailie_xx you always know what to say to put things right. I'm sorry about everything. I still love you, don't ever deny that to yourself. We didn't break up because I stopped loving you. I'll never stop loving you. You will always be my baby... I miss you.xx" he sent it, and got a reply within five minutes. "@Harry_Styles don't be sorry, we had a good run. I'll always love you, and don't think I'll ever get someone like you, Harry. You're one of a kind, my love. Miss you too xx" Harry went to sleep with a smile on his face. As long as she wasn't mad, he would be able to move on.
