{Five}

Tinsley's P.O.V.

I feel my blood turn to ice. Staring into his eyes feels like the worst kind of deja vu imaginable. All my memories of him come flooding back, drowning me.

"Ryan, how good to see you." He chirped smugly, grabbing me by the collar and yanking me up. I yelp just a bit, my neck leaning all the way back from his breath. Look, I may know him very well, but I don't want to end up catching whatever petty disease he's got. "Aw, what is it? Don't wanna see your brother after five years?"

"Brother?" I hear Shane snap from under me. "Your brother is the biggest crime boss in the city?"

"Second actually, but I thank you for the compliment, stilts." Ricky clarified with a smirk. His eyes never left mine. Like a home I ran away from.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"What's it look like?" He said, tone carefree and free of remorse. "I'm working. Now if you'll excuse me..." He tossed me aside like silver. "I need to finish my shift. You two kids run along."

Shane slowly gets up and walks toward the door as all other eyes are still on me. He looks at me, putting a finger to his lips. He stands by the door, pulling the lever to the fire alarm.

As the siren sounds, he ducks and hides behind a booth.

"Shit! Time to scram boys!" My brother yells, giving me a sly little wink before he takes off.

I hear broken glass crunching faster as Shane helps me up, new scratches lining my arms from said glass. "You alright?"

No.

"Yeah. I'm fine. We gotta find out why he's sneaking around." I say instead.

Shane suddenly looks as if Medusa smited him on sight.

"What, what is it?" I ask, starting to follow him as he walks entranced toward something.

He picks something up off the floor. "This is Sara's pocketwatch." He examines it before looking at me. "What was your brother doing with it?"

Now I'm the one frozen.
