21 - Heartbreak

Much later, you feel you have been lost in the leaves for hours. You turn another corner, your (h/c) ponytail nearly caught on a twig in the leaf wall. You look to the fog coated ground, seeing the vines on the floor wrapped around something.

"Fleur?" You ask, seeing the plant wrapped around a sky blue and white shirt. You finally see Delacours face in the mess of leaves, and your eyes widen as she attempts to scream.

"Fleur!" You cry, reaching out to grab her. As you dive at her, the wall pulls her into it and she is enveloped by it. You know she wont get help, she cant call to the staff patrolling the area. Your hand flies to your ivory wand, and you stick it in the air. Red sparks twirl into the sky, directly above you. They explode in a maroon frenzy, and you know that help will come to the girl in the wall. You bite your lip, pocket your wand, and dash down the moss corridors.

As you run from Fleurs location, you become claustrophobic. At least you think thats all it is. You skid to a stop, looking behind you. The walls are connecting to each other, and the white mist is getting thicker. Your (e/c) eyes fill with fear, and you whip around. You find yourself turning every dark corner to escape the approaching fog. You turn another corner, and you are brought face to face with someone new. Viktor points his wand at you, his eyes a misty white.

"Get down!" You drop, and from behind you a spiral of a spell launches at Krum. He is knocked to the ground by the spell, and you roll over to see the attacker. Cedric has his wand pointed in front of him, his brown eyes darting around beneath a mess of scarlet hair. He goes to attack the white eyes Viktor as he struggles to stand, but you quickly get up.

"Ced! No!" You tackle Diggory wrestling him to the ground. He rolls around on the stone, fighting you.

"Get off of me! He was going to hurt you, (Y/N)!"

"He's bewitched!" Finally, you pin him down. You heave, but your grip on his wrists slowly loosens. You look up, seeing that the walls have shifted. Viktor is gone, and the wind is picking up speed. You roll off of your friend, and he stands with you. Down the new leafy hall is a shining blue light resting on a podium. The tri-wizard cup.

You take off down the corridor, Cedric right on your tail. As you run, your ponytail catches a few leaves, but Diggory is caught himself. You hear a loud thud, and then a cry.

"(Y/N)!" You halt in your sprint, whipping around to see Cedric pinned to the ground by the same vines that took Fleur. He struggles against them, but he is tugged closer to the bushes. You look back at the cup. Its so close! You could win! You nearly go to it in selfish greed, but a sudden sound stops you.

Down the pathway that Cedric is stuck in the walls are collapsing on one another. The winds speed is heightened, and it flips your (h/c) locks back and forth. Cedric is still fighting the vines, begging you to come and help. As the walls close in to him, you run back. You stick your wand out, letting a wild yellow spell go lose. The vines release Diggory, and you grab his hand and yank him up. You run together, away from the seemingly sentient, thick, white mist and howling wind. As you get closer to the blue and silver cup, Ced slows to a stop. The walls close in, and everything stays still. Its nothing but you, Cedric, the stormy sky above, and victory. He looks at you, smiling thankfully.

"Take it." He says, looking at the glowing trophy. Your eyes widen, and you shake your dirtied head.

"No, its yours."

"But you saved me!" You crease your eyebrows, thinking for a moment. You then grin, grabbing Cedrics left hand with your right.

"Together." He nods, smiling back at you with a face as dirty as yours. You reach out to the cup, and as you both grasp a handle, the world fades around you. The breeze stirs, and you have to close your eyes from how brightly the cup glows. When you open them again, you find yourself on the ground in somewhere new.
