You sit alone, now the only champion who has not preformed. You rest on a cot in the tent, awaiting what you feel to be a sentence. Everyone will watch, these may be the people who see you die. It doesnt bode well as your stomach flutters. You stare down at your leather gloves, then begin to play with your purple and white jacket which vastly contrasts with your black leggings and boots.

"Three of our champions have now faced their dragons and so each one of them will proceed
to the next task."

"Shit." You mutter, realizing the loud speaker with your headmasters voice is about to call you up.

"And now our fourth and final contestant."

You stand, taking a deep breath. You take your hands, brushing your two braids over your shoulders. You exit the tent, greeted by a bumpy stone corridor. You step down it, seeing the pewter gray light at the end of the tunnel. You take slow steps, but finally reach the end. People cheer loudly as they stare down at you from above, the arena mimicing that of a Roman Colosseum. Only, this isnt a sand gladiator pit, it is made of sharp rocks and boulders at every turn for the Horntail to hide behind.

You allow your eyes to adjust to the stormy light, and you recognize the familiar gray clouds over the arena. In the center of the many rocks, the golden egg rests in a miniscule twig nest. Its too easy. Still, you take the opportunity and slowly step out towards the egg.

First mistake.

A sudden force slams into your side, and the crowd 'oooh's. You are slammed into a nearby rock wall, and look up at your attacker. Standing over the tunnel you have emerged from is the Hungarian Horntail, only this one has carmine red scales and eggshell white horns down its back. The horns flare as it opens its pointed mouth, revealing fangs ready to sink into your flesh. Around its neck is a chain collar, ensuring that he will stay in the arena. He roars, spreading his burgundy wings wide as he does. You scramble upward, and the crowd shouts both in approval and in disapproval; clearly some route for the dragon while others are on your side.

The dragon leaps down to your height, swiping at you with its claw. You dive out of the way, narrowly missing its paw. You land on your knees, partially ripping your leggings. The Horntail, clearly unsatisfied with his miss, flares his nostrils and growls. As you inch closer to the egg, it spreads its jaw wide. Your eyes widen as flames crawl from its throat, aimed directly at your torso. You realize there is no object to hide behind, so your instincts kick in.

Your lips part, your jaw pratically unhinging as your lungs burn. From your lips ours flames, orange stallions that barrel at the Horntails own attack. Your burning breath collides with his, and you quite literally fight fire with fire. You exhale until his own breath ends, and the fire ceases. You seal your lips, coughing as you feel the singe of it in your mouth. You run at the golden sphere, and many people from the crowd applaud your act.

Your fingers skim the gold before you once more are knocked to the side, this time by the creatures wing. Your head collides with a boulder, which you scatter to get behind as the animal once again exhales. You hold your skull as the Horntail attacks, but its flaming breath only hits the boulder.

"Your wings, (Y/N)!" You look up, seeing Hermione shouting at you from the stands. "Your wings!"

Her desperate cries remind you of your plan. You unzip your jacket, throwing it off your shoulders. You toss it to the ground, revealing your top to be a loose, off the shoulder, plum top. You take two deep breaths, closing your eyes. When you open them once more, youve morphed.

Your eyes have returned to their dandelion tone with cat pupils in replace of your human ones. Your teeth now have curved to fangs as sharp as the Horntails, and from your shoulderblades black bat wings have sprouted. You unravel them to their full length, each spreading further than your arms can reach.

You jump from the ground, and instantly flap the leather on your back. You spiral into the air, earning applause. The dragon notices you, and launches itself from the ground. You reach a higher elevation, thinking it may stop the pursuit. Instead, it rips the chain in half that once connected it to the stone arena. People scream, and you decide the best course of action is to get the hell out of there! You head out of the arena, over the white tarp that covered the teachers. The Horntail does the same, and its sharp tail cuts the tent in half. As you fly, you can hear the twins shouting 'Yeah! Go dragon!".

You fly down the mountainside, heading to the silhouette of Hogwarts. You can hear the dragon rushing after you, flying through the fog the same as you. Soon enough, you reach the castle, and lead the creature through a dizzing chase around the tower peaks. You think youve finally lost him as you circle the main tower, about to fly back to the arena for the golden egg. But at that moment, the Horntail rounds the other side of the cone shaped roof, knocking you onto it. You roll down its side, tearing a few of the tiles off. You try to fly, but before you can your body collides with the smaller roof that sticks out to hide a window. Your wing catches on the side, and you are stuck hanging off of it.

The dragon latches onto the tower, creeping down towards you. You yank at your wing attempting to pry it from the ledge. Eventually, you use your head and upper body strength, heaving yourself upward which releases your wing. As you attempt to fly, the dragon snaps at the window, which tumbles to pieces. You fall for about thirty feet before you can flap your wings again, and you head away from the palace grounds.

You look down at the ground far below, seeing a bridge that connects the castle to the mainland on the opposite half of the Black Lake. The bridge has many holes in it, which you use to your advantage. You pick up speed, flying directly into the hole. The Horntail attempts to go after you, but realizes to late that he wont fit. As he tries to slow, he collides with the bridge. One of the dark bricks hits your back as the bridge collapses, and you and the creature cascade towards the waters below.

You flap vigorously, praying to regain any sort of altitude at the water grows closer. You hear a loud splash as you finally flap your wings, holding you steady in the air. The dragons last act of defiance as it sinks to the lakes bottom is to breath fire, which only causes the ebony water to bubble. You rise from the mist that hovers over the water, heading back towards the arena quickly.

As you come closer to it, you see the confused looks on students faces and the concern platered on the teachers. But as they see you flutter into the stone pit, they cheer with noise that you havent hears in years. You drop to the bottom of the pit, seeing the technical golden egg shining brightly. You grab it, holding it up for the crowd to see as you rest on your knees. They clap wildly, giving you the time to rest and catch your breath that you clearly need as you heave, but smile with an open mouth.

You hear sudden footsteps in the arena, and you glance to the entrance. In rushes Draco, his steps rushed but his back straight as he clearly wants everyone to see how superior he is. Finally, he reaches you, crouching down. He cups your face with gloved hands, glaring at you.

"You worried me, you irresponsible fool." He says, dragging his thumb under a scrape. You laugh, though out of breath.

"I missed you too." You set the egg down next to you, leaning up and placing a delicate kiss on Malfoys lips.
