Uguisumaru sat on the porch, peacefully sipping his tea. Behind him, someone was watching. Someone very familiar.
"Aruji-dono," Uguisumaru said. "You can come out. I know you're watching me."
The girl froze, and slowly, reluctantly, came out of her hiding place behind a nearby door.
"I—I wasn't watching you," she protested in a quiet voice.
Uguisumaru smiled. "Yes, of course. Would you like to join me?"
Her face flushed. "S—sure."
She settled down beside him, glancing at the cup in his hands.
"Would you like some tea?" he guessed.
She nodded, and he happily poured her a cup.
(F/N) sniffed it suspiciously, and took a big sip.
"Eek!" she screamed. "It's bitter!"
Uguisumaru chuckled. "Is that so? You've never drunk this kind of tea before, have you?"
She blushed, and shook her head.
"You really are a child, aren't you?" he murmured. "Children these days lack refined taste."
"I-I'm not a child."
She took a deep breath, and took another sip of the tea, then turned away. Uguisumaru could imagine her making a face. She really was adorable.
"What brings the infamous hermit out of her room?" he asked.
She puffed out her cheeks. "I—I'm not that much of a hermit!"
"I've been at the citadel three months, and this is only the second time I've spoken to you," he pointed out.
"I—I'm just usually really busy..." she mumbled, looking down at her hands. "So I decided to take a walk."
Uguisumaru smiled. "Is that so? Then it must have been my imagination, all those times I've felt someone staring at me from that door."
She turned bright red. "Yes! Your imagination! That's it!"
Uguisumaru chuckled. She's very shy, isn't she?
She finished her tea in one gulp, not even bothering to look away before she made a face, and got to her feet, preparing to leave before Uguisumaru stopped her.
"Aruji-dono, if you don't mind, could you join me for tea again? I quite enjoyed our little chat."
She stared at him, then a small smile appeared on her face.
"Y-yeah. Sure. I guess that wouldn't be too bad."

"Ugui-san, can I sit down?"
"Of course. Would you like some tea?"
"Sure."
That conversation became a very common thing to hear at the citadel. (F/N) enjoyed the man's calming personality, and she hoped he somehow enjoyed her company, as well.
She took a sip of the tea, cringing at the taste. Uguisumaru laughed before taking a sip of his own drink.
"Why do you accept my offer when you hate the taste?"
Inwardly, she blushed. It makes me feel close to you.
In reality, she shot him a glare.
