The mine, Saran had come to find out, was beginning to become unstable.

The further they went, the more Eveline made her presence known. Which either came in the form of her humming creepily or her sending more molded and making the cavern shake hard. Either way, it was just serving to make Saran angrier than she already was.

Finally, it quieted down and went silent. Saran didn't trust it, especially taking in consideration who exactly they were fixing to fight.

"Watch yourself," Ethan spoke from behind her. "There's no telling what she'll try next."

"Yeah, I know. She's a psychopathic kid who's obsessed with getting a family by any means necessary," Saran grunted out, making sure to keep an eye out for any molded.

"Couldn't agree with that sentence more," Ethan replied from behind her.

Saran cracked a small smile before moving forward again.

She ended up at a set of broken stairs that she could jump down from.

A tiny grunt left her mouth as her feet hit the dusty floor and she walked forward. From behind her, she heard Ethan jump down and walk up next to her.

They'd come to a big open carved filled with conveyor belts that went up and dropped off. There were other miscellaneous objects but Saran was more concerned with the two molded that were coming into view.

One looked like a fat, bloated molded, like the one she fought in the barn and on the ship. The other not so much.

It towered over the other molded and it looked to be twice it's size.

Saran raised her gun, leveling it at one of the molded.

"Ethan, you see that ladder behind them?" She asked, quietly.

"Yes," He spoke, just as quietly.

"I want you to run to it. Now."

In her peripheral vision, she could see him look at her, conflicted. He opened his mouth to say something but she interrupted.

"I'll be right behind you but I have to distract them long enough to draw them away from the ladder."

He gave her an uncertain look but nodded none the less.

"Just be careful," He said softly.

Saran nodded before firing off a couple of shots at both the molded. It had the desired effect. Roars filled the open space and both came lumbering toward her.

Saran fired off a few more shots to keep their attention on her as Ethan skirted around them to get to the ladder.

He was about five steps up when one of the molded stopped and she heard hissing bubble from its throat. She watched as it opened its mouth and released a spray of acidic bile. Saran dropped to the ground in time to avoid being hit with the disgusting sludge. Once it stopped, Saran glanced up from her position on the dirt covered floor.

Ethan had already made his way up and now it was her turn.

The molded were close now, just feet away.

Luckily for her, there was a conveyor belt off to her right she could use. Unluckily for her, the biggest molded stood in her way.

Saran had an idea but it was sketchy at best and horrible at worst but it was all she had.

Quickly, Saran picked herself up off the ground and ran right at the molded.

She waited as it stopped in its tracks with a glare, bile dripping from its huge mouth. She waited until it was fixing to spew the nasty liquid before using her momentum to drop and slid between its legs.
