Mat has just broke up with his love, his made-up love. His fans are incredibly sad and betrayed. They had already been used to seeing him and her along, on the happy photos. They had been through a lot of adventures.
Then why, why did they break up? Mat was feeling sad too, but mostly free. He never loved her in the first place. It was all a made up relationship because if he was continuing to be single at his age, things would go weird, so he decided he should pay someone to love him, or something like that. He was lucky to find this lady named Stephanie.
Of course, she's beautiful, fun and smart. But he wasn't feeling loved, or feeling like he should love someone like this. He felt like he was in prison. They stayed like this for three years. After all this time, he thought he would learn to love her and see her more than as a good friend, but it all stayed the same. Stephanie was more like a sister to him, after all.
And he's feeling a little bad, because things didn't work out his way, but may had worked out her way. At first, she didn't like the idea of dating him, but he noticed that as the years went by, she would be more clingy, happy and funny with him. That's when he noticed, she actually loves him.
Even behind the cameras, when they didn't need to show their relationship, she would continue to act like how a girlfriend should. After some time, he got bored and stressed out. In 2018, they finally broke up. Stephanie is left in a mix of awe and disgust. She can't believe he just did this.
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry," - he mutters hopelessly.
The room fell silent again. She's still staring at him, bewildered, and then some tears fall out of her white face.
"Mat...why did you do this?" - she asked, sobbing.
"...?"
"Why? I love you, don't you know this? I really love you. I know i shouldn't, but...I love you. And hearing you say that...breaks...my heart!" - she says, looking him in the eye.
He gulps. Why is the room so carried with tension and rain clouds? Is this a good ending or bad one? He felt confused. Why is he even breaking up with her in the first place? He closes his eyes for a moment, not being able to look at her. Something just felt right. He just feels like he's doing the right thing for both of them. He opens his eyes again, this time she's not looking at him. She's just staring at the ground with frozen eyes.
"...I will leave, okay?" - she says after a long time. This time her voice is not shaky. It sounds clear and loud.
He looks at her, confused.
"I will leave now. I'll just get my things and go.
"Stephanie..."
"No, don't say anything...please," - she interrupts, angry.
She hurries to packs her things. Mat just stares, quiet and feeling like a total loser.
"You can leave tomorrow, if you want to...,"- he suggest, frowning.
"No, we only have one bed to share, don't you remember?"
Silence.
" ...I don't want to sleep with you knowing you don't love me."
"Stephanie, don't say tha..."
"The conversations ends here, Matthew!" - she screams.
He shuts up.
Soon, she leaves without warning, leaving a note on his desk with her pretty handwriting:
"If someone is in your mind, you better love her like I loved you, Matthew...goodbye."
