My summer went faster than I expected, way faster than the summer before I had with Stefan and Nikalus. This sucks because when i wanted it to go fast, it didn't, but when I'm living my best life, the day speed by. Stefan and I never made it to Portland since Rebekah called me to come to Italy with her and Matt as soon as we made it out of Mystic Falls. I could not pass that on, and Stefan said it was fine. He still had to take care of the safe with Silas in it and would travel a bit until we met again. We got a couple of days of peace, which involved heavy make-out sessions, picnics, movie marathons, and cuddles before he went to dump Silas in the quarry, and I traveled to Italy.
After I got sick of being the third wheel with Bekah and Matt, I traveled to Tampa Bay, Florida. I spent a lot of time on the clearwater beaches and visited metaphysical shops. I took a tour and learned about their magical traditions before watching some dolphins and kayaking.
I traveled a few more places, promising Caroline I would take plenty of pictures and Elena that I would journal the whole experience. But in my journal sits a plane ticket to another destination. I'm not ready to go, and I don't know when I ever will be. I stare at the first-class ticket to New Orleans at the back of my journal. I found the ticket on my bed before I left home with a note from my father saying:
