Chapter 2
I stood up to head to lunch when Ashleigh came up next to me.
"you should sit with me today at lunch."
"ok." not wanting to turn down the only offer I'm probably going to have.
With that we headed towards the lunchroom together in silence.
When we got our food we walked into the seating area, skimming the place for somewhere to sit.
"over there" Ashleigh pointed to a table with Kynzie and a blonde boy.
I nodded and followed her towards the table.
We took our seats, mine next to Kynzie and hers next to the boy. Kynzie smiled at me in acknowledgment.
"Katherine. This is Kynzie" she nodded towards Kynzie. "and this is Logan. My boyfriend I was telling you about." she shot Logan a smile.
"I've met Kynzie." I gave a small smile. "her locker is next to mine." I finished.
"oh that's nice." Ashleigh took a bite of her veggies.
It was sort of loud in the cafetorium but not too loud. I coudl hear a group of girls very distinctly though.
I turned slightly in my chair so I could see who was making the noise.
"the guard girls." I heard Ashleigh and Kynzie say simultaneously.
I spotted the "guard girls" very quickly. They were pretty and looked fun.
"what's guard?" I asked.
"they twirl flag poles and guns and stuff." Logan answered me. "they are like a cult or some shit. They are never not together."
I just stared at the girls in awe. "that sounds cool." I finally said.
Right when I said that I made eye contact with one of the girls. She had long brownish blonde hair and a friendly face. I looked away immediately though.
"they are weird." Kynzie said with a laugh. "but in a good way." she finished.
"they will always make you laugh no matter what they do and try aren't afraid to be crazy." Ashleigh said.
It sounds like these guard girls are very interesting.
I heard a ringing and everyone was rushing out of the room. Looks like lunch is over.
I stared at my tray. I didn't eat hardly anything. That was going to bite me in the butt later.
I stood up an walked with the three others to take my tray up and go to my locker. I noticed I had FACS next. Great.
I closed my locker and walked around trying to find the classroom. Finally I found it and I walked in. There were only a couple people in the room yet so I just took a seat.
When the bell rang signaling the beginning of class, the students came pouring in. Then the teacher walked in.
She was young looking but not that young. She was probably in her mid-thirties or so. She had short curly brown hair with a reddish tint to it and she had worry lines above her eyes.
I noticed she let the class talk for a minute before speaking. "settle down class."
Everyone gradually grew quieter.
Again she started talking. "as you all know, this is a rotational class. That means you only have me for the nine weeks." she paused. "you guys are eighth graders this year, you all know what that means." she said jokingly.
