{ Silver's POV }
I was at Sam's place in my room, drawing. I shaded in the picture of me as a wolf and I heard a knock on my window. I looked to see Embry and Quil standing there.
I opened it and held my hand out and Quil kicked up and took it as I pulled him inside. Embry jumped up on his own and ducked in. "You guys do know there's a door right?" I asked rhetorically, speaking to Quil mostly.
"Yeah we do."
Embry said but I ignored him.
"You're right. But Embry wanted to say something to you before we raced off to respond to Sam." Quil said and I snorted and turned to Embry as Quil leaped out the window again.
"What Em?" I asked, sitting on the bed again, staring him down, my eyes pretty much empty of emotions.
"Look I know I hurt you." He said and I looked at him. "What gave you that idea?" I asked sarcastically, my eyes full of pain that I couldn't keep back.
"Look it's not our choice who we imprint on and you know it. Silver listen to me please." He said and I looked down at my notepad as tears dripped down my face.
"Your wolf is stronger then your human I get it. I do. But your deepest nature is human. You were born as a human. You can fight the wolf Embry."
"But you can't stop yourself from choosing the imprint you want. If it's not me, I don't blame you."
I said and he looked at me. He pinched the bridge of his nose.
"She's human." He said and I looked at him. "She's safer then I am." I said and he looked at me. "Don't make me choose Silver." And I looked at him.
"I got the DNA results back yesterday." I said and he nodded and looked at me. "I'm Jacob's older sister. I'm full blood Quilete and I didn't even know."
I said and he looked at me.
"I'm only half."
He said and I looked at him. "But you grew up here. I was grown up away from everything I was supposed to know, the legends I was supposed to learn, the siblings I should've known."
I said and he hugged me. I felt the warmth from him that I had fallen asleep to so often, but tonight it felt like a forest fire. I pushed him away, my eyes full of pain and fury.
"Pick one or the other. There's no middle ground Embry Call." And he looked at me. "I'm really sorry."
He said and I looked at him.
"If you choose her, you're not coming back to me. Pack or not Embry." I said and he lowered his eyes and I knew he was torn apart. He hopped out the window and I saw him racing away.
I sighed and sat on my bed again, burying my face in my hands and starting to cry, my hands shivering along with my entire body.
Over the next few weeks when I was working at the mechanic's shop, I saw them together constantly.
One day, I saw them walking into the shop from where I was working on Bella's old truck.
I heard someone call my name, my boss Raphael, and I pulled out my earbuds and jogged to the front and slammed into the desk in fury and shock. "Surprised to see us?" Jenny asked mockingly, her eyes flashing with relish at my reaction of fury.
My knuckles cracked as I clenched my fists under the desk. "Wait outside alright. For a few minutes."
Embry said and she nodded and kissed him, and I felt my heart smashing into pieces as she walked out, her phone against her ear.
Raphael sensed that there was tension, and he looked at me and I nodded as he walked out.
I looked at the grooves on the desk and saw his hand on top of the desk. "We can't keep doing this. It's killing you." And I shook my head.
"But it's not killing you clearly."
I said quietly, and he looked at me.
"Maybe I'm just better at hiding it." And I bit my lip and looked down. "Find another mechanic Call."
I said and turned away, my hand on the doorknob. "Jenny was my best friend outside of you guys. Now she's your imprint and it feels like she stole everything from me."
I said quietly and opened the door and slammed it behind me.
I leaned against the wall and sobbed, sliding down and curling up, pulling my knees to my chest.
I shut my eyes and shuddered.
I felt a set of cold arms around me and I looked up to see Raphael standing there.
I had always known there was something different about my boss, but I knew he was a vampire now, just like I knew about the Cullens.
He had always been there for me, whether it was giving me a place to crash when Charlie was in his rages.
Whether it was when he was throwing things and hitting me, or when he was just glaring at me and locking me in my room.
I was always able to go to Raphael's.
I leaned against him and felt his arms around me. He kissed my forehead and I tilted my head forward so his chin rested on my head.
"That's Embry isn't it? The guy who broke you." And I looked at him and nodded slightly. "Yeah." I said and I felt his cold hand on my face.
"Do you want me to hurt him?" He asked and I shook my head. "Not him. Her." I said and he nodded. "I will. But first you've got to do one thing for me." He said and I looked at him.
"What?" I asked. "Drop your shield." And I concentrated and felt it slip away. Suddenly agony poured through me and I clamped my jaw shut to keep from howling in agony.
Suddenly the pain stopped and I was on my knees, shaking, my hands over my head.
"So even your shield can withstand my power. Interesting." He said and I looked at him. "That was you?"
I asked and he nodded. "I can do it to her. She'll never go near him again."
And I nodded. "Do it."
I said and he nodded.
"Alright. Wait for the screaming."
And he disappeared.
