Chapter 5 - Relief and Relevance

(Y/N's POV)

My eyes are wide open, as I gasped for air and sit up from my slumber. That final moments of drama before my awakening, it frightens me so much to the point that I can feel my beating heart, pumps in quick succession, without the need to check by my finger on my wrist.

I waited for a while, controlling my breathing before my heart's speed slows down to its natural pace. I look around, wondering where I'm at, then I discovered that its same room where I rose from my sleep. I stand on my two feet and look around the room; I analysed the design on the walls, unique design as I thought earlier, but nothing too special. Then I look at the glowing roots; still glows bright. It feels... pure? Not sure. One thing that really catches my eye is a machine. I wonder what it is; the real source of the ship's energy? Or maybe, a some sort of a capsule? I thought about it for a while before I heard the door opened behind me. I turned around normally because I know who it is.

Lucy.

She walked towards me before switching to a short jog and then... she hugs me?!

What?

Then she talks to be within her cries.

Lucy: "I-I'm glad that you're alive!"

Alive?

Y/N: "I don't understand... What happened?"

She explains about the assassination mission of killing Vor that we started earlier, but it almost becomes a failure due to that I got killed by Vor and-...

Wait?

I died?

Then...

....Why am I alive right now?

I softly push Lucy out of my personal space and checked damage that my suit and body have sustained during that mission; ...nothing...

Even the life-threatening injury which is that I remembered; got shot in the chest, puncturing my heart, its not there. I rubbed the chest of my suit where my heart dwells inside, against my skin, and I felt no pain. Not even a scar... 

Y/N: "How is this possible..." I talked to my self.

???: "I have a few theories."

I did not freak out like the first encounter because I recognize that voice. The a hologram appeared next to us.

Y/N: "Lotus..."

Lotus: "What Lucy said was true; you did die by the hands of Vor and proceeded to the same thing to her."

So I did die...

Lotus: "But what's unexpected that before Vor kills Lucy, her right hand which holds the gun, was shot, causing the Captain to drop the weapon."

Is that possible? But there's only me and Lucy during that mission...

Lotus: "We discovered who have taken the shot."

Y/N: "Which is..."

Lotus: "... It was you."

What?!

How is this possible?!

I died and yet I did that!

Y/N: "I-I... can't believe it..."

Lotus: "I expected for you to be. Watch."

Then a screen appeared a front of me and started playing a scene which from... Lucy's Point of View?!

The video started as I got shot and died, then Vor proceeds to do the same thing to Lucy. Then out of nowhere a shot had fired and hit Vor's right hand, dropping the gun. Without that shot, Lucy would've died. Vor shouts and looks around to find who fired at her then stop in shock. Lucy then looked where Vor was looks at then, is that...

ME?!

How?!

I have so many questions right now!

I was in my head for a while before a menacing voice had spoken. I looked back and...

My injuries was recovering!

Even the heart!

Then my past self did something that I surprises me, his suit was transforming into something that I cannot forget which I discover in my dream. The blue of the suit was changed to black and my visor's red, and finally the mark. That mark, how I cannot forget that.

I look back to the screen and the fight had already started. I watched it till and I cannot believe what I have done; I was able to uses Mag's abilities, even the powerful one; that still haunts me...

I look back again and see myself walking towards Lucy with the sword and gun once Vor had in her possession. My mind was about to race, instantly think that my past self was going to kill her. But I remember that she was a front of me right now. That give me a big relief. I continue to watch the footage and see myself holding her shoulder and having a green aura around both of them. 

Healing? 

After the process, my past self passed out a front of Lucy as she catch him with little to no effort. Then I saw myself goes back to my original form. Lotus told Lucy that the extraction was ready, and the Mag carries me to exit, with the weapons we had acquired. 

Then the footage ends.

...

Y/N: "T-that's..... a-a lot to take in."

Lotus: "I believe so. Including to Lucy."

Look at Lucy and she doesn't sounds like that she's crying anymore but she's worried about me.

Y/N: "Did I... worried you back there?"

She nods hugs me again.

Lucy: "But at least that you're alright."

I comfort her by hugging her back for a while before separating, then I realized something.

Y/N: "I remembered something. Do we still have those weapons we got from Vor?"

Lucy nods and I followed her to where the weapons was located.

Y/N: "Lucy, is it alright if I take both of them?"

Lucy: "Of course. I don't mind."

She sound energetic when she said that. Probably still happy that I'm alive.

Well.

I'm happy about that too.
