Isobel P.O.V.

After we had given Sophie and Oliver their wedding presents, Kade and I acted like a couple of highschool kids, giggling and laughing all night. I blame my unusually high affection for him on being in a totally sappy and romantic mood. I was just happy, to put it simply.

Not one of us had brought up the subject of what we had done. It's like whenever we were close by, all we could do and think about is being with each other and that's all that mattered. We were falling victim to our natural, primal instincts, completing disregarding logic.

Once I was on my own though, I worried about becoming too attached or taking things further. There was no hiding that attraction we felt for one another anymore, but what could we possibly do about it? Maybe this is just one of those wedding holiday flings, and things will go back to normal once I leave.

I shoved those thoughts aside as I brushed through my wild hair. I was going to visit my mom today who would be landing late morning, a couple days before the wedding. All that was left now, was to print out a few program booklets, which I was going to do this morning before meeting up with my mom for lunch.

I knocked on the door of my aunt and uncle's place about 20 minutes away from Olphie's.

"Isobel!" My mom answered with a bright smile. She looked pretty good, with a healthy weight on and color in her cheeks. That's all I could pray for, that she was doing okay.

"Hey mom," I smiled coming in to give her a tight hug. "Missed you lots. How was Hawaii?"

"Gorgeous! Lovely, lovely weather and beaches. But I did miss Newport very much." She said ushering me into the house.

I nodded, I knew what she meant. She missed our old family life and dad. So did I. "Yeah me too. So how are you?"

"Good good, though I'm thinking of moving back home. Maybe with your grandparents," she pondered. "They're getting old and could use some help around the house." My grandparents lived about 50 minutes away, I actually should see them sometime during my stay here if I could squeeze it in. Maybe this afternoon.

"Are Auntie Reyna or Uncle Diaz around?" I asked curiously, noticing the empty house.

"Oh they had to go back to work," she said, picking up her handbag. "You ready to go to lunch though, mija?"

"Yeah," I nodded. "Let's go."

We made our way over to a local fish and chip shop by the beach. I grabbed some Greek salad as a side and a platter of crumbed fish and hot thick cut fries for us to share.

"So how are you? Everything good with work and the wedding?" My mom asked nibbling away at some fries.

"Yeah, work has been great. I love being at Red, there's always something new and exciting to write about. The people are nice too." I said. I don't see myself leaving any time soon. I wanted to work my way up the ladder and write more major, bigger stories and articles.

"That's great to hear. I'm so proud of you. You have worked so hard making your dreams come true."

"Thanks mom," I smiled gratefully. "So what about you hey? Moving back here?"

"Yes, I'm thinking soon. I had a lot of fun travelling, but I think it's time to come back, help your grandparents and work a little," she said pursing her lips to the side in thought.

"You still have money from the sale of the house, no?" I asked curiously, taking a bite of the food.

"Well yes, but I want to save that for you, and I've spent some travelling. I mean I'm still healthy, I can work. It will help me to keep busy, have some purpose with my life." She responded thoughtfully.
