Max told the others about the glint he saw just before the train crashed. They all left quietly towards were Max saw the glint.
Max lead the way to just before the accident. Ash jogged up to him.
'What do you think this thing is?'
'No idea. I just want to see what it is.'
Ash went quiet and Max could see his jaw moving, just the it always does when he is thinking really hard about something. Which isn't often. Max though to himself. He looked back at the girls, who were still silent since the train crash.
As they left, a man in the front of the crowd looked up and silently followed them.
He moved slowly, rushing behind a tree or stump whenever he thought his prey was going to turn around. He had his eyes on a tall blonde who had fallen behind. He moved quietly, making sure he didn't step on any sticks or dry leaves. Soon he was almost touching the tall girl. He reached into his coat and pulled out a rusty knife, black with dry blood.
"Guys! I found it!'
The man shit himself, thinking he had been caught and dove headlong into a bush. The blonde quickened her pace, and he silently cursed. He looked up and saw the group circled around something. He got up and crept around behind the golden haired girl. He once again raised the knife.
'What do you think it is?'
'I don't know.'
I looks sort of like some mega sized bone.'
"Bone? Aren't bones supposed to be way underground?'
'Yeah, but look. Its smooth unlike the rock around it.'
'Hmm, I suppose your right.'
'Lets start digging around it.'
'Sure.'
The man wanted to just plunge the knife into the blonde girls back and hear her scream as he ate her alive, but curiosity got the better of him. He went up on his toes and peered over the girl's shoulder. He was what did look like an abormally large bone. The whole group were digging around the bone, revealing more large bones of some creature. Curiosity quenched he got back down and prepared to drag the knife down the girl's back.
'Alice! Watch out!'
Alice spun around and screamed. The man yelled and the knife missed it's target, only scratching Alice's shoulder. She lept back and Max charged forward, grabbing the man's wrist and holding it fast. With his other arm he drove his elbow into the man's bicep, he cried out as his kness buckled and he fell. Max went down with him, trying to get the knife out his grasp. He put his foot on the man's face and wrestled the knife out of his hand, which he threw away. The man screamed and bit Max's ankle.
'Ah fuck!' Max twisted his leg out of the man's mouth. Ash ran up and threw himself at the attacker and got him in a headlock.
'STOP!'
Everyone looked up and saw a helicopter hovering above them, dust and soil whipping their faces as the helicopter got closer to the ground. It landed and soldiers poured out. Three broke Max, Ash and the man up, while the others dug up around the bones, revealing a skeleton. Max stared dumbfounded. He knew almost every prehistoric animal known to man but he didn't recognise the remains of this creature. The soldiers loaded the bones onto a large rectangular base, which they covered with a blanket and lifted into the chopper. They then began to push Max and the others to the helicopter, which had begun to spin it's rators.
'Hey what are you doing?' Max yelled.
'You have to come with us.' said one soldier.
'Why?' asked Olivia. The soldier didn't respond but moved to the front and sat down.
'They can't make us come with them.' said Ash. He went to jump out when the helicopter rocked and took off.
'Well now they can.' said Alice. The man was lying down with his hands and feet tied down.
'GIVE ME MY KNIFE! YOU CAN'T DO THIS!'
'Shut up you. Your under arrest for mass murder.'
'ITS NOT MURDER! WE WERE HUNGRY! YOU DON'T PUT LOINS UNDER ARREST FOR MASS MUDER FOR KILLING ZEBRA DO YOU?' The soldier didn't say anything back. Max looked over to the bones hidden under the cover. He lent his head on the railing and tried to sleep.
When he woke they were landing at some labratory in the middle of a desert. The building had a huge roof over 200 metres tall and as wide as five football stadiums. As soon as they landed they were escorted into the building by tough reinforced cars.
