Chapter 7

While grocery shopping, you saw Kana along with her mother. "Kana-chan, ohayo~", you greeted with a soft smile. Her mother looked at both you and Rikuo before she looked at her confused + jealous daughter, "well then, I leave you three alone for now, I'll be talking with some aunts over there about meat quality", she grinned before leaving.

"what are you guys doing here together?", Kana asked with a strained jealous tone as her eyes kept shifting from you to Rikuo but stays longer at him. "oh? I asked Rikuo-kun to help me with grocery shopping since Tsuoki-kun and Tsubaki-kun are a bit busy today", you smiled at her, "are you and your mom doing some grocery shopping today too?".

She shifted her gaze slowly from Rikuo, back to you, "we're just buying some ingredients for cookies, (name)-chan do you know how to bake?". Blinking your eyes, "if you're talking about baking pastries.... I'm not that good....but if you're talking about traditional food, I'm very good at it".

"(name)-chan knows how to make traditional sweets too?", Rikuo asked with wide-impressed eyes, and his interestness triggered Kana real good. You turned your head to him with a bright smile, "yes I love making it, grandma taught me, if you want let's make it later", you said in an excited tone forgetting the fact that Kana was staring jealously at you. Not that you know she was jealous.

Rikuo became shy all of a sudden, "u-umm... if you don't mind....that is". Giggling at his response, you smiled, "what are you talking about Rikuo-kun~ I don't mind at all~". Then you turned your head back to Kana, "do you want to join us?".

At first she looked determined but then her face changed into hesitant, "I'm currently with my mom... so have fun......I guess". You frowned lightly, "too bad.... But it's okay, if you're not busy after this you can come visit the shrine", you smiled in the end of your words.

"I'll think about it later (name)-chan, thank you for the invitation...umm.... Are you two dating?", she asked cautiously eyeing both you and him with clearly jealous eyes. You couldn't figure out her intention of asking that question, so you simply answered, "why would you think I'm dating with Rikuo-kun? We just met", you giggled.

Kana looked at her feet, suddenly thinking it was more interesting than your face, "right... you guys just met, there's no way you would like him that way right away", she said as if she was talking to herself, making you a bit confused.

Then the air around you was awkward, yet you didn't notice, since you were staring at her basket which was fill with ingredients, "ne , Rikuo-kun.... I think we should continue buy the groceries..", you said while still eyeing her basket.

"huh? Okay then, let's go.... We'll see you next time okay Kana-chan?", he said before looking at you with a smile as you still stared at her basket and walked away.

He stifled his laughter, "(name)-chan, what exactly are you looking at?". You shook your head before looking at him with a bright smile, "I was memorizing her ingredients".

He couldn't help but burst out laughing, "why would you do that?", he asked as he wiped the tears that was at the nook of his eyes. Pursing your lips together, "it's just that..... I wanna try baking like her too".

The word cute escaped from his lips, made you look up at him with a light blush on your face, then when he realized what he just said his face burst to flames and he quickly covered his face with one hand.

You couldn't help but stare at his embarrassed face, 'cute..', "ah anyway let's continue~ if I'm not mistaken I saw an orange inside her basket, should we buy too?", you tilted your head innocently. This time he couldn't control his laughter, he laughed out loud while slapping his knees, from then on you realized that he was making fun of you.

So you frowned, "stop laughing Rikuo-kun".

That time the two of you didn't realize that brown orbs were watching you two with pure jealousy, especially to you.

He strained himself from laughing at you, but he just can't.

You stared at him for about 10 seconds with a straight face before walking away from him, making him chase you with a brilliant smile on his face that even Kana never sees. The tinge of jealousy in her changed slowly into annoyance.

"just because she's pretty and all doesn't mean Rikuo-kun will like her", she rolled her eyes and walked away, searching for her mom.

Rikuo lightly grabbed your arm with a soft smile on his face, "(name)-chan, I'm sorry for laughing at you, it's just that..... you can just google it and then look at the video on how to bake the cake.... And also..... that orange has nothing to do with baking unless you want the flavor, or the icing is orange then..?".

Hearing this, made you think twice about the orange, "then, what flavor should I buy then?". "what flavor do you like?", he asked as he still held your wrist.

You blinked your eyes while thinking hard, "never really thought of it, how about you Rikuo-kun, what flavor do you like?".

"wait....before we continue, do you actually have the tools to bake in your shrine?", he sweatdropped. You sweatdropped at the thought, "oh, right..... I don't, and If I do buy it today... it would be heavy for us to carry back home", you hit your forehead with your free hand, "stupid me... ne, Rikuo-kun let's just buy some groceries and ingredients for traditional sweets, we'll buy baking ingredients next time", you smiled in the end as you looked around at where the veggies were.

Rikuo just smiled as he watched you walked around, "I'm lucky to be me", he said with a whispered voice so that you couldn't hear it.
