Rainbow Dash POV

Wave was spot on. We won with flying colors. We were the champion, Spitfire's group second, and another group third. Actually, Cadance had heard me sing 'Faded' before, so she disqualified the Shadowbolts! They were furious!

I was laughing so hard when they stormed out of the hall, tossing their instruments behind them. Burn!

Anyway, we went back to CHS, holding the shiny gold trophy aloft for all the world to see.

"They won!"

"Guessed it!"

"Who couldn't with RD on their band?"

A gang of students enveloped us with hugs.

I smiled. At least I made them proud of me, even if my dad doesn't like it.

Turning away from the crowd, what could happen but run smack into my friends?

"Rainbow! Congrats on winning! I knew you could do it!" squealed Pinkie, hugging me so tightly I couldn't breathe.

I stuttered,"C...Can't bre...breathe..."

Pinkie let go.

Sunset asked,"What song did you sing?"

"Stronger." I replied,"Excuse me, but I have to pee real bad."

"Then go! Don't pee on my designer dress!" shrieked Rarity.

I didn't even pee. I just climbed the stairs to the roof. Sitting on the fence, I enjoyed the breeze playing across my face.

Let it go, let it go

Can't hold it back anymore

Let it go, let it go

Turn my back and slam the door

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight,

Not a footprint to be seen.

A kingdom of isolation and it looks like I'm the queen.

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside.

Couldn't keep it in, Heaven knows I tried.

Don't let them in, don't let them see,

Be the good girl you always have to be.

Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know.

Well, now they know.

Let it go, let it go

Can't hold it back anymore

Let it go, let it go

Turn my back and slam the door

And here I stand and here I'll stay

Let it go, let it go

The cold never bothered me anyway

It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small

And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all.

Up here in the cold thin air I finally can breathe.

I know I left a life behind but I'm too relieved to grieve.

Let it go, let it go
