"I wish you had told me you're leaving earlier." Spencer's tone was sad.

"What difference would it make? Goodbyes are always sad, and are always goin to be." I wasn't gonna let sadness get to me. I had a whole flight to spend tears on.

"We could've at least had a goodbye party. Well dinner." he laughed, and it hurt how much his laughter reminded me of Hunter. Their eyes crinkled the same, and their front teeth barely showed no matter how hard they laughed. "We wouldn't wanna recreate the disaster that is Tyler's party."

"Indeed we do not. People still ship us. It's mad."

When Spencer took a deep breath, I knew what was coming. "What about Hunter?"

Exactly that.

What about Hunter? I asked myself the same question.

I couldn't move my life for Hunter.
He couldn't move his life for me.

I couldn't stay on my own, my mental state no longer permitted that. Sure, Pr. Linda gave me proper medication that would keep me stable, but it was gonna take some time to adjust, and my parents were concerned and my school performance was spiralling down.

It was a mess.

"I think you should talk to him. Call him maybe?" Spencer added. Texting him was not enough. Calling was not enough. It just wasn't enough.

"I will. And Spencer," he looked up at me in anticipation. "I'm sorry. We were supposed to look out for each other. And now I'm going, and as bitter as it is, Ryder is gone. Who knows if he'll ever remember us or recover from his amnesia. Please keep in touch, I need you to stay alright..." I paused a bit. "And alive."

He grabbed his inhaler and took a puff. It was clearly getting into him. "I need you alive Spencer. Everyone does. If you ever need me just send me half a text and I'll fly all the way from Germany. No hesitation."

His response was a tight, warm hug.

My heart did a small jump when I saw his head hunched down at the exam. I hoped he was acing that shit.

I paced around the empty hallway, waiting for the exam to finish.

A small barely audible bell rang, and multiple rooms opened with students flooding out. I aimed my sight at Hunter's room, which I was now a few meters away from.

I could see him walking among students, searching frantically for what I could only assume was me.

But he wasn't.

He went in for a hug with someone else and my heart cracked down the middle.

After a couple tears slid down, a hand grasps my chin and shakes me gently.

"Jack. Jack nothing's happening." a hug. I was in a hug. I was so confused and felt so out of order. "God I can't believe you're here."

I hugged him back without thinking, because that was becoming a dangerous thing to do.

He knew I was hallucinating before I did. It made what was about to happen even more hurtful.

I was leaving Hunter, and I was leaving for good.

More soon x.
