Niall’s POV

Another two days passed by, making it three days since Lucy went to Brian’s house. But still, Lucy was practically mute, only talking when she absolutely needed to, and spending most of the time in her room.

Louis was the about same as her. Though he actually spent time with us, he was always spacing out, and didn’t talk much. The circles under his eyes were growing darker and darker, and every time Lucy showed her face, he jerked his gaze towards her and stared her down, searching for something in her emotionless face.

I was sick of seeing him like this. I was sick of seeing them both like this. I had to do something. With a sigh, I flipped the television off and heaved myself off the floor and up the stairs, not caring if he had already claimed to have gone to bed or not.

“I was watching,” I heard Harry protest from the couch.

“Sorry,” I yelled back as I ran up the stairs. I opened the door to Louis’ room and saw him lying face down on the bed.

“Lou, we need to talk,” I started.

“Go away,” he groaned and attempted to throw a pillow at me. I ducked out of the way and walked further into his room.

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“YES!”

“No.”

“Leave!”

“Nope,” I crossed my arms over my chest and he sighed and rolled over, sitting up to face me.

“What do you want?”

“To talk.”

“About?”

“Louis, I know you’re upset about Lucy, but you need to pull yourself together, mate. Maybe Lucy isn’t acting like herself, but that doesn’t mean you can’t either. Maybe you can actually talk to her and figure out why…” I faltered.

“I’ve tried,” he let out a bitter laugh.

“Then try harder. And stop ignoring the rest of us.”

“I’m not–”

“Yes, you are,” I sighed.

“Niall, just go. Leave me alone,” he frowned.

“Louis–”

“Go,” he repeated loudly, his voice shaking a bit. With a groan, I went to my room and flopped on my bed, running a hand through my hair. Maybe if I couldn’t get through to Louis, I could get through to Lucy.

But even Lou couldn’t get through to Lucy. So what made me think that I could?  I scoffed. There was nothing better to do anyways. It was worth a try, right?

Louis’ POV

Niall finally left, and I thought about what he said. Pull myself together? I chuckled to myself, remembering his little lecture.
