The world seemed to slow down. All noise seemed to stop. Irene couldn't take her eyes off this new girl. For some peculiar reason Irene felt drawn to this new girl. Irene felt as if she had been staring at this beautiful new girl for what felt like hours but in reality was in fact actually a fleeting moment.
She was about the same height as Irene, a little taller even. She had long, poker straight hair that was as black as a ravens wing. She was wearing a red velvet dress, that reminded Irene of the deep, red roses she would admire from her spot on the balcony every morning. 'The girl in red' is what Irene decided to call her.
Irene thought that she had been staring at the girl in red for long enough, so she hurriedly rushed away to see if there was any breakfast left. Fortunately there was lots of food left, but as Irene ate her breakfast she could not stop thinking about the girl in red.
