I stared at the message that had flashed on my phone and quickly disappeared. I shoved my phone back into my pocket and hurried on inside. I closed the door behind me and followed Garroth into the living room. He sat down on the couch and grabbed onto my hand as I walked towards him and was pushed me down.

"What's wrong, Aph?" Garroth asked as he cuddled up against me.

I flinched at his actions and sighed.

"Just a bit paranoid about a new project." I lied, leaning back against the couch.

Garroth's phone vibrated causing him to get up and walk away. I sighed a dramatic sigh and I listened to him talking in the kitchen.

"Hey, babe.." He whispered on the phone.

I got up from the couch and felt my phone vibrate. I took it out one last time and another notification popped up. This time it was from an online friend of mine. It was someone that I had been talking to for years upon years. I wasn't cheating on Garroth with him, though.

He was just a good friend.

"Hey." His first message.

I opened up my messages and walked back over to the couch. He was still in the kitchen so that gave me time to talk with him.

"Hey, Aaron." I replied.

"What happened?" He asked, instantly noticing something was off.

I took in a deep breath and typed.

"He cheated on me. He's fucking gay, Aaron. My boyfriend is gay."

"What the hell? Who does he think he is? If I were up there, I'd beat his damn ass." Aaron said in rage.

"Aphmau?" I heard Garroth call out.

I immediately put my phone down and turned the power off. It continued to vibrate a few times as Garroth walked back in.

"My friend doesn't have anywhere to stay. Is it alright if he stays here tonight?"

Say no.

Just do it.

It's not that hard.

"Sure, of course." I said smiling warmly.

He jumped up, a little too excited and a sharp pain in my heart rose up. That had to be his boyfriend who he invited over. I was in complete disgust.

He cheated on me and now he's going to bring this guy here?

I walked over to the door and opened it up.

"I'll be back in a bit."

"K"

I rolled my eyes at his reply and slammed the door behind me. Running out onto the street my phone began to go off. I took it out and answered the phone as I put it up against my ear.

"Hello?"

"Ms. Phoenix, I have sent you a file. Tomorrow is the day that we will be going on with mission A6. I want you to review the files. We will send out a signal tomorrow for we have begun to pick up messages as well. We have a team monitoring them at the moment."

"Yes, Ms. Firefist. I will check them out as soon as I return home. I will send them to you later tonight."

"Good. I must return to work now, thank you."
The phone call ended and I put my phone back into my purse.

I rubbed the back of my head and stopped in front of a Cafe. Upon entering the Cafe, something felt different. The aura around in the place began to change.

I ordered a coffee from the front and took a seat at a small table. A shiver went down my spine as I felt as if I was being watched. I looked around the Cafe cautiously and noticed someone staring at me. They quickly looked away and I stared at them confused.

I took my phone out of my pocket and sighed.

"Excuse me?" I looked around and noticed an older gentleman in front of me.

"Could you tell me the time? My watch suddenly stopped." He asked, staring down at his watch.

I gave him the proper time and he tilted his hat down, thanking me briefly.

"Hey, my watch stopped as well!" Someone yelled out.

"That's strange." I mumbled.

"So did mine!" I looked around the room and the person staring at me earlier got up from his chair.

He had a red hood over him and a simple pair of black pants. He quickly walked to the front door but before he could get out someone stopped him.

"Excuse me, sir, what is the time?" Another person asked.

A low growl came from the man as he pushed the man out of their way. They quickly rushed out of the place and ran. I ran over to the person he pushed and helped him get off the ground.

"Oh, look at that. My watch is working again!" He said as I helped him up.

"So is mine." Someone else replied.

I stared at them with even more confusion than before and walked over to my chair and picked up my coffee from my table. I'm not sure what just happened but I think it's time for me to get the hell out of here.

I walked towards the front doors and left to head back home.

I knocked on the front door to my house and could hear laughing inside.

Someone ran over to the door and as they opened it they gave me a smile.

"Hi, I'm Garroth's friend, Laurence. Nice to meet you!"
