3rd person POV
The rest of the day went by pretty slow for the two boys, Phantom and Dember. All that happened with Dember is resting and his wounds getting treated. His mother eventually got called and she rushed to the hospital immediately.

Dember's POV
"Dember baby!" My mom called out as she made her way next to me. "What happened?!" I don't understand how she didn't know. I've told her a million times. Whatever might as well tell her. Again. "It's because of my bully and soulmate mother." I said. "Soulmate!?" My mother proceeded to scream in my ear. I then just looked at her. "Yes that's what I said mother," I said. "But he's also my bully and I don't want to love him." " Dember listen to me." My mother demanded. "You will always be dear to me and your father and you can't always get what you want. It's best for you." Is she serious? First off my father left us, second my mother only cares about who my soulmate is so she can kick me out when I finally turn 18. Why do I even try sometimes? Nobody cares that about me. Accept for my best friend, Kira. She's kind of dark and has depression. But, she's actually really nice and sweet. Like a jaw breaker, you need get through all the layers to get to the center. I feel bad for her as well. She has no friends, accept me of course, and her parents abused her before they brutality died in front of her face on her 6th birthday. Her parents were killed in a terrible car accident. Since she's been living by herself. I told her to stay with us but she always declines, saying how she had to do everything herself, to make herself less of a burden. She does come to us for help sometimes. But, she has a really good job as a BL manga artist and makes enough money to live on. She's really a secret fujoshi on the down low. She has also been drawing for as long as I can remember. I g mean I did get my love for drawing from her. I can't wait to tell her about my soulmate experience today, just for her reaction. Anyway as I was saying, before I got distracted, nobody really cares. I'm like a burden to everyone. Extra weight people dump off. Nothing. Hell, nobody even knows it's my birthday accept Kira and a few school staff members. It used to be different. Everything was good. It was a great life. Until the that one day I messed everything up. I used to have many friends. Kira included. She's been there since day one of kindergarten. But anyway that one day I was over at one of my friend's house. His name was Hunter. I told him a secret and made him promise to keep it. The secret was that I was gay. But at the time I didn't know it was "wrong" and everyone would hate on me for it. That I would be out casted or forgotten. Unfortunately my secret had been leaked. I was out casted, forgotten, hated, and I became empty. They had me suspended for a week, made me promise to change, but I never did. I can't just change something I was born with. Since I continued to stay the way I am, gay, my father left, calling me a disgrace, a mistake, and he also said he wished I never existed. Mother now blames all her problems on me and she didn't approve of me being gay. She just takes care of me and pretends to care because she has to. She may not love me, but she gave birth to me so I am still her child. No matter how much she hates me, she still takes care of me because it's her job. She did change. Somewhat. She does approve of me being gay now but, everything else is the same. Anyway during this dreadful time I was bullied by the entire grade (not including Kira), had anxiety issues, and depression. Don't get me wrong I still have depression and anxiety, just not as bad as it used to be. I started cutting. I had multiple anxiety attacks during the day. Finally the school principal got tired and had me sent to classes to help. They helped  a little bit, but not enough. Until Kira showed me drawing. I learned how to get my emotions out through drawing. Still, even after the classes my anxiety attacks and cutting still happened. The bullying still happened. Nothing changed. So the principal of my school banned kids from all interactions with me. Nobody messed with me or talked to me for the rest of my elementary school days. I did get to talk to Kira from intense begging to the principal for a few months for it to be aloud. Then middle school happened. Most people forgot I existed. As for the people who didn't... They continued the bullying they started. By trashing my stuff, tearing on of my drawing notebooks apart, physical violence, mental violence, drawing on my desk, getting me in trouble with the teachers, etc. Yet I managed to survive my middle school years. Then, magically high school rolled around fast. Then same things happen. But I have learned from middle school how to avoid most of it. I became a favorite for the teachers and everything! And now that I think about it. Nobody knows of my family crisis making them feel less guilty and the pain more bearable. If there is any pain. Anyways, as I mentioned before I got to this into my backstory my mother exclaimed, "You will always be dear to me and your father and you can't always get what you want. It's best for you." After she said that and my flashbackse nded , I gave an "Are you kidding me right now?" kind of look. She stared into my pale blue eye and faded brown eye deeply and sighed. (A/n Sorry if changed the color of his eyes. He also has heterochromia so one eye is pale blue and the other is faded brown.) " Look son, you may not believe me, but I have changed. I love you the way you are. I'm sorry I missed that in the beginning and others have missed it too. " my mother explained. Maybe my mother did change? But, that's just a maybe. I can't let my guard down just yet. Well maybe just for a little. "Thank you mother. I love you so much," I exclaimed while I hugged my mom. " I love you too son. I love you too, " she responded while she hugged me back. We stayed like that for a while until my mom said she had to go back to work. We said our goodbyes and I slowly drifted off into a wonderful sleep. Until I realized I was dreaming about Phantom and I. Being friends then we became more. It was a very long detailed dream okay!? Oh how Kira and mom would love this.
To be continued...

A/n Heyo! Make sure if you like the story you vote and sorry this chapter is a bit long. I got into writing and I couldn't stop. I hoped you enjoyed learning new things about our protagonist and his best friend. I was originally going to add Phantom's point of view as well, but I'll save that for next chapter. Also make sure to comment on this paragraph some feedback and what to do to improve it. Or just comment any paragraph. My phone is also dieing. Another reason I didn't add more to the chapter. I hope you all have/had a wonderful, Merry Christmas. Bye! Edit: Also everyone I forgot to mention is in their junior year of high school. (Sorry I'm not the best at spelling.) Also should I do a profile sheet for all the characters introduced and/or going to be introduced

Edit: Yes the school is full of were animals. Not furries. Were animals. I ended up doing these outfits because I wanted to try the new outfits and some of the new outfits happened to match the characters personalities. (Kira also wears a lavender jacket with sapphire tips around her waist.)
