Gorsepelt turned and looked at Deerflight. "NO, she WAS a slut in heat who wanted kits. How do I know? She likes she-cats instead of toms! Go on, I dare you, try to be mates with her. She'll fall head over tail for you and then what will you do?"

Deerflight was dumbfounded. Her stubborn personality got the best of her and her green eyes glinted. "Alright, maybe I will!"

Gorsepelt was disgusted. "You like she-cats?"

Deerflight hissed at him. "NO!" Gorsepelt was amused by this.

"Okay, problem settled." He gave her a friendly bump on the shoulder. Deerflight decided that she liked Gorsepelt.

"Ya know, you aren't so bad. Wanna just sit down... and talk?" She asked nonchalantly. Gorsepelt nodded.

"You aren't that bad either." Gorsepelt replied.

"Did you just say I was bad in the first place?"

"No."

"Yes you did."

"I'm telling you, I didn't," Gorsepelt shot back, a glint in his eyes. He tackled Deerflight and the two wrestled around like a pair of apprentices. Gorsepelt finally pinned Deerflight down. Then he blushed.  Their lower bodies were touching each other... and it was embarassing. Gorsepelt quickly climbed off.

"Hey, don't be so quick to move on," Deerflight said with amusement on her face.

"Let's hunt while we're out here."

Deerflight agreed with his stamement. The two split up, Deerflight looking for some mice and Gorsepelt looking for a rabbit. Or two.

After about an hour, Deerflight was finished and buried her prey. She sat down to sun for a bit and closed her eyes.

Deerflight said,"Oh, hello, Mr. Breezetalon! What is it? You wanted to dance? But why in this tea shop?"

"Dear Mrs. Deerflight, no. This is a dance floor!" Breezetalon replied. And so it was.

"Well. So it is," Deerflight exclaimed, getting rid of her British accent.

Gorsepelt prodded Deerflight with a claw. He poked her harder. And again. Deerflight jumped in surprise. "My, my, Mr. Breezetalon, such attitude." She stopped short when she saw Gorsepelt standing in front of her.

"Oh... um, sorry for falling asleep." She said bashfully. Gorsepelt chuckled and merely said to bring the prey back. The pair walked together until they reached camp. Deerflight smiled and thanked Gorsepelt for the day. She went back to the fresh-kill pile to eat a mouse. It was then that she realized how hungry she was, and swiftly gulped it down.

"Deerflight! Deerflight!" It was Foxpaw. "Hey, Brackenclaw said that he needed you to train me while he goes out to talk to Shadestar for a while."

Deerflight replied with,"Of course, Foxpaw! Who couldn't resist such an annoying little brat!" Foxpaw looked mildly annoyed.

"Well, I have to put up with a silly cat that looks like a deer!" He shot back.

Deerflight rolled her eyes. "Sarcasm really isn't your thing, is it?" Foxpaw just looked at her.

"Aren't we going to get going now?"

"I guess so, yeah."

"Great!" Foxpaw and Deerflight headed out of camp. Foxpaw loooked at Deerflight very seriously. She looked back at him, an evil grin coming across her face.

"Wanna do something before we get started with training?"

Foxpaw was confused. "Okay, sure."

Deerflight lookked off into the forest. "Race you to the Tall-Trees! One two three, go!" She said before speeding off.

Foxpaw called out,"No fair!" But ran anyways. When he got there, Deerflight was waiting for him. She smiled and put his paw on her shoulder. She smiled tenderly and gently, which made Foxpaw uncomfortable.

Deerflight's eyes started to water. "Ha! I totally won! I can't believe you fell for the emotional act!" She laughed, almost crying. Foxpaw got the jibe. Le started to laugh too. Soon both of them were rolling in the leaves, not even remembering what they were doing or laughing about. Deerflight straightened up, trying not to laugh anymore.

"Alright, Fixpaw. Wait---did I just call you Fixpaw?" The pair started laughing again until a deep voice interrupted them.

"Deerflight. I ask you to take out my apprentice for some training, and all you do is race and laugh?" It was Brackenclaw. Now they were busted. She and Foxoaw quickly sat up, not caring that dirt was stuck to their pelts. Brackenclaw looked mad.

"But... Brackenclaw... Do you ever have fun? And what's with that deep voice? Are you playing some joke on us?" Foxpaw asked, confused.

"Yes. Look out!" Brackenclaw shouted, before hurling himself at Foxpaw and wrestling with the red tom.

Those two get along so well, thought Deerflight. She had expected the deputy to win, and was right when he emerged on top, holding Foxpaw down. "Haha, gotcha!" Deerflight smiled when the deputy said those words. He was so, so, well, handsome. His Bracken-colored fur glinting in the light, his eyes glowing in the warm shafts of sun. She quickly stopped when she realized she was staring.

"Foxpaw, Brackenclaw. Maybe we should hunt and get back to camp. It is almost sunset."

Foxpaw sighed. "Okay. I guess you're right." Brackenclaw smiled at the two.

"I think you should stay here and practice battle moves. Foxpaw, you need the training. Deerflight--- just stay here and stay out of my fur!" He joked, a gleam in his eyes. Foxpaw and Deerflight gave their consent, and started circling each other while Brackenclaw left the Tall-Trees. Deerflight scuffled with the young apprentice before he won.

"Wow, Foxpaw. You're pretty good." Deerflight complimented. Foxpaw looked embarassed.

"Well, you are too, being a warrior and all." Foxpaw shot back.

"I think we should get back to camp. The sun is going down."

"You're right. We should."

The couple trekked through the undergrowth before emerging through the camp's entrance. Deerflight nd Foxpaw both went to the fresh-kill pile to get some prey after the practice. "Hey, Foxpaw. Want to share a rabbit?" Foxpaw nodded and picked one out from the pile. It wasn't the biggest one, but it'd have to do. Actually, it would. A rabbit was enough for two. They tore into it, hungry as hungry cats could be.

In no time, it was finished and Deerflight looked uo, naware that Foxpaw was lookin at her. She noticed some other cats looking at her, however.

"Foxpaw! Foxpaw! I think the other warriors are gossiping... about us!" Foxpaw looked around.

"Oh, yeah. I think they are. Maybe we should go or something."

Deerflight nodded, and they went to their respective dens. Her mind turned to Brackenclaw. How he was so strong, nice, and good looking. Wow. And so caring about others. Her train of thought was interrupted by Greenfeather walking in and saying,"Wow. Look who's got it on with Foxpaw."

Deerflight growled in irritation. "I do NOT have a thing for Foxpaw. He's a good apprentice that Brackenclaw asked me to take care of for the day." But as she said those words, she felt unsure of herself. This was new turf.

Greenfeather made his eyes go round. "Lying to your own dear brother! Shame on you."

Deerflight poked his face, making him scrunch it up. "Stop being ridiculous. That's never going to happen."

Greenfeather rolled his eyes. "But you can't deny it, when your heart is flying!"

Deerflight cuffed him over the head. "Stop. I'm at the end of my patience and I'm about to unsheathe my claws. Don't push me."

Greenfeather knew that she was not going to tolerate any more. "Okay. I'm going to sleep." Deerflight mumbled something that sounded like 'me too' and The two curled up against each other, glad for the warmth.
