For the remainder of the night, Tony stayed with you. There were many questions you had to ask him about your situation. Now that you weren't living in a cell, there would be some obvious changes. He said that everything would be the same except you had your own, more comfortable space for you and your baby which was soon to come. You also couldn't stop yourself from asking about the boy he had mentioned, Peter was his name. You were told that he was a sweet kid who was also an Avenger except didn't do as much hero work since he was still at school. Tony had put his room in your area so that you could have someone around and as he mentioned earlier, a free babysitter. He seemed to have caused a little trouble lately so he was going to arrive in a couple of days to spend some time polishing up his skills. It was mentioned that he had spider-like powers, something which you found to be really interesting. You couldn't help but wonder how a human could possibly mutate and adopt such abilities.
After speaking for a while, it started to get dark so Tony left you alone. It was only when you were by yourself that you noticed how big the area actually was. You had never had such a large amount of space. Everything looked so fancy and expensive, you were afraid to sit down on the couches in case you were to ruin them. Growing up with barely anything made you aware of all of this, there were too many differences to count when comparing your old life and this current one.
Your bed was large, Tony had described it as king-sized. The sheets and covers were made of a material you weren't too familiar with, the reason being that it was so expensive you never would have come in contact with it. You carefully climbed into bed, not wanting to ruin anything since this was only your first night staying there. It was very comfortable and warm, making you instinctively snuggle into your plump pillow.
This new place made you feel like a queen and right now you believed that you deserved it, not only you but the baby too. You were happy that they wouldn't have to go through the same things you did while growing up, instead, they would live a carefree life. They wouldn't have to scavenge for food, books or clothing. They wouldn't need to be afraid at night and they would know that they are loved and cared for every day. You weren't going to be a parent like your father, instead, you decided to pick up on the things that Tony did for you. Right now he was the only parent-like role model that you had, you just hoped that what you knew and were currently learning would be enough to properly take care of a child.
It didn't take long to fall asleep in the new bed. Not only because how comfortable you found it but also because of everything that had happened that day. You were extremely exhausted, not only mentally but physically too. Your movements had become slugish and you weren't moving around at your usual speed, it was if your body and mind had completely slowed down. You weren't concerned about it though, you were aware that this was only temporary and tomorrow you would wake up and start your new life. A life in an expensive apartment, working for the Avengers and Tony's company. You would live life as a mother, surrounded by the Avengers. But there was one thought that you couldn't push away. Loki wouldn't be a part of it.
The next morning you were woken up by the sound of loud knocking on your bedroom door. You were slow to get out of bed and make your way over to it. Opening the door, you squinted up at the person who stood before you, having to wipe you eyes in order to focus on them.
"Fairy warrior," a deep voice called. You raised an eyebrow at the muscular blonde male, wondering what it is that he wanted from you.
"Uh yeah?" He cleared his throat before taking a step away from the door, gesturing you to follow him.
"I would like to speak to you about something important." Now you were even more curious. It was rare to just sit with Thor and talk. You weren't on negative ground anymore so there was no problem with his suggestion, you just couldn't help but wonder why. He continued walking away from the door, taking a seat on one of the couches in the living area. You followed suit, sitting down across from him.
"What was it that you wanted to speak to me about?" you asked. He looked very serious but you couldn't help but notice the small smile on his face.
"As Loki's brother I am a relation of the child, correct?" You nod.
"Yes, you would be the uncle. I know that you and Loki are not blood relatives, but if you like to be present my childs life as their uncle I would be very appreciative." His face lights up. It was odd since you had never seen him look so excited before.
"Thank you, fair- I mean (Y/n). Anyway, how long until you have the child?" he asks. You look down, placing you hand on your stomach. There was no bump at the moment because you were only in the early stages of pregnancy, but you were happy to know that your baby was there.
"I'm just over two months so they'll come out in 7 more months." He seemed a little disappointment with having to wait, that only proved how excited he was. Sure, he wasn't as expressive, you could tell just by the tone of his voice and the questions he asked.
Even though he wasn't the brightest, he seemed interested in learning about the baby and what would happen during your pregnancy. All that you could do was give him the information the doctor had given you. He stayed with you for over an hour, talking about what would happen when the baby arrived and such, eventually ending when he ran out of things to ask. He promised to come back and see you whether it was to talk or keep you company.
Once he was gone you were sure to make yourself something to eat and sit back on the couch, exploring the endless channels of the tv. Televisions were new to you, but you knew what they were and how they worked, that was all that really mattered.
While sitting in silence, staring blankly at the flashing screen, you zoned out. The tv continued playing a movie which you payed no attention to, instead, you stared past the bright imagery and into your own thoughts. Now you were thinking about your baby, its sex and possible names. But were knocked from your thoughts when you heard the sound of the elevator opening. You looked over your shoulder at the corridor where the elevator was, expecting someone to walk out. You heard the sound of the elevator doors close and then move to another floor. Being both bored from what the tv showed and curious about your new visitor, you stood and approached the corridor.
It was surprising to see that no one was there, slightly disappointing as well. You had hoped that it would be either Tony or Bruce, maybe even another one of the Avengers. You had met and spoken to them all, you would even consider them as friends.
Walking down the corridor, you eyed the metal doors, noticing a small basket sitting on the floor in front of it. Who ever had come in had obviously left it and gone immediately after. You picked the basket up by the handle and inspected it. There was a layer of tissue paper covering whatever was inside. Turning around, you walked back to your seat in the living room and sat down.
Pulling the paper away, you were able to see the baskets contents. You smiled softly at what was inside, it was thoughtful of whoever had left it. Inside was a lot of chocolate and a teddy bear. You picked it up and inspected it, staring directly into its glass eyes. You assumed that it was for the baby, maybe it was from one of the Avengers. It didn't take long for you to notice a small piece of card attached to the basket. You turned it so you could read the fancy cursive handwriting.
Sorry
That was all that it said but you had a clear idea of who it was from. Below the singular word was a small drawing of a black spider with red details on its back. All you could give was a weak smile, it was nice to know that she had sent this to you. After what happened yesterday, you were worried that she wouldn't want to speak to you again. You thought that she would ignore you and keep her distance forever, this was something that you didn't want.
You were very apreciative of Natasha as a friend, you just hoped that this gift meant that the two of you were on good terms. Being so close, she probably felt the same way as Tony, she felt as if you didn't trust her. But you were going to prove it to her, the next time you saw her you were going to let her know just how much she means to you.
Had the biggest scare when I searched up Black widow because her name came up as Natalia. Low key thought that I had written it wrong this whole time, but when I read further into it I found out it was only an alias. Glad I don't have to go through and change it all, was confused as to why no one had told me it was wrong if it was. People never fail to let me know when I've made a mistake, whether it is valid or not ^-^. Anyway, vote and follow me for more. Thank ya XD
